Audience sitting down during The Bard's Song!

#1 Post by Joost » 27 May 2017 14:42

Last year in Warsaw, Poland! This was definitely a memorable performance! Hansi sang only a few lines though, less than usual, and most of the singing was done by the audience.

You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.

I've seen it happening a couple of times last year, at Hellfest and (if I remember correctly) at Metaldays...never seen it before but cool

I have seen Blind Guardian... I think 10+ times by now, but only saw it in Warsaw 2015 and Warsaw 2016. Haven't seen in during the two Dutch gigs in the same period. Cool that they also do this at MetalDays and HellFest! 8)

Why would you want to stand during the song let alone a metal show in general? Metal shows are meant for you to be standing I know that's not always the case but it takes away a lot of the intensity and experience from the overall show. Sadly though I haven't seen a Blind Guardian show yet I came close to last year but unfortunately a storm kicked in and it would've been difficult for me to drive back and forth. I am located in eastern North Carolina and the who was a little over 2 hours from me. I personally would be completely drained after the show and I would've had to drive back. I know it just sucks. I used to live in Los Angeles but I had to come here.

I think the sitting down, during only The Bard's Song, actually adds to the atmosphere of the song, giving a bit of an atmosphere similar to sitting by a campfire (or something like depicted on the Somewhere Far Beyond cover art). Perfect for a song like that!

Agreed!

First BG concert I went to, I had a friend on my shoulders during Bright Eyes. Pure adrenaline moment.
