They are gods, and my faith is strong and unwavering!
I do not need signs to know they exist, I do not need signs to know that whatever it is they do, it will be perfect.
For they are the bards, and they will do as they please and in doing so, they will please us!

Either something profound happened to Gandalf or he is trolling

. I haven't seen him that passionate (iirc) about any album release until now

Wow, if September goes out without news, it will be maybe the driest BG period ever?

Yes, at this rate it does seem quite likely we'll go an entire 12 month period without any news.
I am so, so ready to be inundated in the news and publicity when it does start.

Btw does anybody know what happened to the documentation "Traveler's at the edge of time"?

They knew that we knew there would be something wrong when they started booking shows for a year or more in to the future.
Just wish they'd been like, "OH YEAH BY THE WAY, FANBASE... THAT MAY 2014 PREDICTION? HAHAHA!"

There's a strange thing I just stumbled upon... The website where tickets for the show in Gothenburg on May 29th can be bought says the following: "Den sextonde januari kommer Blind Guardians ännu obetitlade nya album, det är deras tolfte studioalbum sedan debuten ”Battalions Of Fear” som kom 1988..." (The link:
https://www.biljettforum.se/direkte/?to ... 6lEkSPgBWb. You can switch the language to English). They state that the new yet untitled Blind Guardian album will be out on January 16th.
Now the question is if it's true and how the hell did they get that information...

Actually it would be nice I think since I almost completely gave up hoping for a 2014 release.
It would mean less than 4 months to go which isn't that terrible.

Yeah, it would be nice if this is the release date, but there're 3 months and a half to it and still not information...is it possible ? Except if they start publishing information immediately at the beginning of October...???

That seems likely, if Marcus was right in saying they're submitting it to their publisher or whatever at the end of September
Though, "we should be done or almost entirely done by May, and that's worst-case". I haven't forgotten..

I think the tour dates show that they want to finish before April, thats when the massive touring begins. Hopefully they can make it.

Pretty much my thoughts as well

And these lines from Wheel Of Time fit the situation so well...
As for the orchestral project - I'm fairly sure anyway that it won't get postponed until the next millennium which is still better than nothing!

Yeah, absolutely agree with you about their 30th anniversary !!! Sounds promising

And somehow I prefer the orchestral project not to be published yet... I mean that I really would like to hear it, in my opinion it will be something rovolutional about the music as all...but sometime I just feel myself still not ready about it(this project will be something like a storm, like the Creation, like the Heaven in the music)...and I'm still thinking that right now there will be a lot of material with the regular album + the fact, that I almost needed around 3-4 years to fully understand the songs from the last album(for example Road of No Release, which is such an art, if I could say so...)so I think I can wait another 2-3 years for the orchestral one...but probably not for the next regular...
But that's what I like the most about Blind Guardian,
"They didn't release music very often..., but when did it.....

I hate to bring this up, but with the way they have slowed down so much in recent years, how much longer do you think the band itself will last? I mean, it's been 30 years this year.

I think Hansi mentioned wanting to tour at least until they were of "Iron Maiden" age. Their work on the orchestral project is likely what has slowed them down.. Marcus and Fred running off to side projects has me thinking this, too.
Once the orchestral project is released, I could see them pulling off an album every 3 years, 4 tops.
Though if the 4.5 years between albums trend continues, then maybe we'll see four or five more albums from them?
There are some ancient metallers still performing these days..

I'm not an impatient person in general, but it's taking them a bit too long for my tastes. It would be a pity if the four year-rhythm they maintained since 1998, would be broken.

Well, they should be out of the studio now at least, seeing as another band had it on reserve for October.

The only thing that would restore my belief in BG after breaking their rhythm, would be a very quick release of the orchestral project.

For a long time fan it's amazing how slow the releases feel, so the current rhythm is too slow for me anyway

By announcing this live appearance we also secretly announced the intended termination of our album production for the end of May. We obviously have progressed quickly, in Blind Guardian terms that is. Indeed, everything looks very promising with regards to our songwriting and our production. We have good reasons to believe that the album is going to be completely finished at that point. Let’s hope I will not be proven to be the reincarnation of good old Münchhausen again.

Sorry about my bad english, but the good one is on vacation!

Mostly I was impressed by some of the songs, which we have not played live so far, “Noldor” and “The Curse of Feanor” in particular. I immediately decided that we have to play one or the other in 2014. So, it truly is something to look forward to. Sounds like a (false) promise, I already made some time ago, doesn’t it?

History repeats itself, some mean people would say, and that life is a constant “Battlefield” – which reminds me of another great song of ours…
Another nice one

. At least he immediately states that this could be a false promise.

Check this one guys, made me laugh Soo Muuuch ! Listen, listen:
"Blind Guardian
20 september 2010 г. ·
Guess where we have been last Friday? In the rehearsal room? Of course not - though we probably should. We have been in Prague doing some more recordings for the orchestral album. It sounds outstanding!
You may have to wait a little while until you will be able to judge it yourself but it will be worth the waiting. Promised:-)"
It's almost 2015 now and still not news
I like them so much
I hope that the guys wouldn't get us wrong... I mean, I can wait...This is the band that learned me to patience !!!, but I just need news, is that too much ???

I'm also not very happy with the on-hold status of Demons & Wizards. It's been 9 long years since the last release...
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
Forever to be free

Here we can't blame only Hansi, there's also Schaffer who from the last D&W album released 4 studio albums, 1 live, 2 DVDs, 2 box sets and a collection with Iced Earth plus all the touring (and now he just underwent a surgery).

You're probably right on this. I just wasn't expecting 9 years. The project can be probably considered dead.

Demons and Wizards is better dead IMO. Schaffer songwriting got really worse since then and Hansi isn't as inspired as the old days. Both are past their prime and IMO they don´t have anything new to offer.
Blind guardian
I have faith in them and their talent but I'm not expecting a truly remarkable album from them this later in their career, just another record with three or four very enjoyable songs and that's it.

I disagree, BG's last album, to me, is totally amazing and also Iced Earth last one is a pretty good album.

I mostly agree with Rokubota. It could be though that Sciacallo's post has some merit. Maybe ATEOT was slightly better than ATITM, and the new album could continue this upward trend.

I'd actually say that ATEOT is significantly better than ATITM.

You know, I mostly thought I agreed with you, however I thought about it again while writing the previous post, and I realised maybe on average it's only slightly better (or maybe even worse). As a consistent album, definitely Ateot is the stronger contender. It reminds me of the comparison between Number of the Beast and Powerslave. The former has 3 hallmark songs and the others are fillers, the other is a very strong album as a whole. It's hard to compare them. Similarly, Atitm has This will never end, Turn the Page, Fly, Another stranger me and the rest are kind of filler (of course this is only my opinion). Ateot stays at a very respectable level from start to finish, but in my opinion none of the songs reach the level of the top Atitm ones, although they come quite close. I am not really sure which one is better.
