Northern Seer

#1 Post by Kalmari » 26 Apr 2012 10:05

I'm a singer and a songwriter in a Finnish Power / Speed Metal band called Northern Seer. The band was formed in 2008, and since then we have composed about 7-9 songs and played a few dozen gigs here in southern Finland. Some artists that have influenced our style, and whom fanbases might find something enjoyable in our stuff would be: Angra, Arjen Lucassen's Projects, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Rhapsody, Symphony X. Our first demo called "Labyrinth Of Time" should be out in the summer, but before that we will release songs as the spring goes by in our youtube- and soundcloud pages.

Here are our first two finished songs,

Wings Of Fire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHTsrs6pHFQ

King For The Land: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIjSMDV-cOY

the songs can be also downloaded free from our soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/northern-seer

There are also a few live gigs uploaded in youtube from us,

Live At Arabia Youthcenter 19.12.2009: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytkNpHZ8Sls

01. The Hellion / Electric Eye (Judas Priest Cover)
02. The Mob Rules (Black Sabbath Cover)
03. King For The Land
04. Burn For The Holy Name
05. Die For Metal (Manowar Cover)
06. Talonpoikaisralli (Heavy Metal Perse Cover)
07. Welcome To Dying (Blind Guardian Cover)
08. The Last In Line (Dio Cover)

Acoustic Gig 21.08.2011: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL57D249D62C44F973

01. Sail Away To Avalon (Ayreon Cover)
02. Seize The Day (Demons & Wizards Cover)
03. Kill With Power (Manowar Cover)
04. Wings Of Fire
05. Harvest Of Sorrow (Blind Guardian Cover)
06. Aamunkoiton Huilumies (Heavy Metal Perse Cover)

The band is in a very early- and growing stage, so all criticism, comments and tips are more than welcome! :)

Hey there,

I quite like the first two songs "Wings Of Fire","King For The Land".

Sounds really close to Morifade (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFRuJUgZ7zw)

The movement of the vocalist reminds me of Hansi ;-)

The live gigs quality isn't best, but "Welcome to dying" was performed quite well.
The links to the new songs do not work (anymore?).
Follow the blind
Your journey, your last hope, it can begin
These passing dreams were real no fantasy
There are more things than we know
Come take my hand
