Taken was on last night, I really like it. Liam Neeson is just pure ninja in this film, I reckon he'd have Chuck Norris worried for a bit!

edit : wait, I saw Due Date after that. That movie was at times funny, but more often painfully NOT funny and pretty awkward too (a dude masturbating simultaneously with his dog is just a bit too much out there, even for me).

Last movie at the cinema was a French one, about a left-winged girl who sleeps with right/extreme right dudes until they change their minds. Surprisingly good actually

Else, RED with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovitch and Helen Mirren (oh, and random younger girl), AWESOME one with plenty of explosions, gratuitous violence, punches, rockets, machine guns and bodycount !

Ha! I just watched Krull, a fabulously ridiculous British fantasy movie from 1983, complete with a cyclops, a guy who is a dead ringer for Roger the Shrubber, and a hero who smiles regardless of what's going on in the story and abandons members of his party (including a child and a blind old man) in tough situations. It was great. Watched again the other night out of boredom and used At the Edge of Time as a soundtrack. As one might expect, the addition of Blind Guardian made the movie ten times better and far more hilarious.

Re: The Last Movie You Watch.
Today I watched Paranormal Activity 3. Well, to say that the magic is gone is quite the understatement. Pretty weak flick, with bland acting performances and never a truly scary atmosphere ... Quite unlike the very first movie of the series, which made me cry for mommy at one point
Quite a disappointing movie, but maybe it's for the better, I sleep better with the lights off anyway.
Tomorrow's up : Either Mission impossible 4, Tucker and dale vs evil, A better life, Real Steel, Fright Night or the latest Sherlock Holmes movie. Or a couple of those. Hope some of those movies are nice.

I highly recommend Tucker and Dale vs Evil, really really funny, a tad bit predictable at times but a fun watch none the less.

Just finished watching "Knowing" with Nicholas Cage. Gotta admit this movie surprised me in many ways all of them positive. Eventhough the ending was becoming a bit predictable, you were led to doubt your predictions due to the great twists and turns in the plot that made the entire movie so surprising... So eventhough you could predict the ending, you wouldn't untill the very end.

I was so annoying with the whole irrationality and bullshitting they took so seriously in the movie. The whole idea is about as silly and ridiculous as nazis on the moon and should have been treated like that. Anything else in the movie was just run-off-the-mill hollywood blah-blah. The Dark Knight Rises which was a great finale to the Nolan trilogy, although I don't think it matches up to the second installment. Anne Hathaway was surprisingly convincing in her role. Nowhere near the train wreck Catwoman movie. Bane was an interesting villain.
My biggest complaint is that Gotham became Manhattan. I would have preferred had they kept the original look from Batman Begins with its gritty feel.

The cabin in the woods
Didn't like it that much really, the makers failed imo with their approach of 'choreographed horror', and the underlying theme of vengeful old gods seems painfully misplaced in a movie like this one. Also, the finale goes further over the top than a Sylvester Stallone movie. Conclusion : meh.

Same here, saw the other night The Dark Knight Rises. Slow and melanchonic beginning that makes you regret the Joker, things go crazy and entertaining (how can we top an hospital being blown up? hey, let's take the entire city hostage and let's give Batman a Batwing!), and stunning finale which was an awesome ending to the entire series.Dragon Guardian wrote:The Dark Knight Rises which was a great finale to the Nolan trilogy, although I don't think it matches up to the second installment. Anyway, it could have been to give a better sense of closure, but am I alone in getting the feel that they "brought back" all the other villains (cameo from Liam Neeson, Scarecrow pops up also there) to somehow make up for the absence of the Joker? in the second movie, Heath Ledger basically carried the movie on his own, no need to look back at Batman Begins, in this one they crammed a lot of earlier references as in an attempt to make you miss the Joker a little less. Or, as I said, it could have just been closing the circle on the trilogy.
I dunno what would have happened if Heath Ledger hadn't died; probably they would have still went for another villain, but imagine how awesome it would be if the Joker would have been thrown in the middle of the movie once the riots break out.

Shakes The Clown, '91 cult comedy, directed by and starring Bobcat Goldthwait. Totally hilarious movie with good music and some alcoholic/cocaine clowns played by well known actors. Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Blake Clark, Kathy Griffin, to name a few. I laugh hysterically everytime I see it.
