Sucker Punch?

#1 Post by Palantyre » 21 Nov 2010 11:29

This is probably old news (everything in the internet is always old to someone), but... whoah.

Now, I'll be honest: I do not give a single, solitary, miniscule shit if this movie has a well-done plot or not. The reason for this should become evident after about halfway into the trailer.
And The Lord said unto John: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'.
But John came fifth, and won a toaster.

Ninjas, Robots, Hot women, Dragons... Is there anything this movie doesn't have?!
Ah, maybe that plot. We'll see about that. :D

The plot looks ridiculous, the story itself will probably be totally gash. The production itself looks ok and the CGI looks pretty good, matrix style fight scenes everywhere and loads of dragons, but nothing that hasn't been done before.

Look at the short skirts though, definitely one to watch!

Yes, because short skirts are obviously a new thing.

And sure, dragons and mechs and battle zepelins and all that jazz have been done before.
But what hasn't been done before is cramming them all together into one huge ridiculous bundle of crazy awesome.

My post obviously went over your head. maybe it is because I am British and I have hit the international punchline, yet again!

I was really looking forward to this movie although it turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year thus far.

I haven't watched this, but I bet the only good thing about it is the Led Zeppelin song.

Just saw it. Still trying to decide if it was a nice idea, or a lame excuse to show off some hot girls kicking ass (or maybe the excuse was for the zombie nazis. If, as a director, you want to make a movie about zombie nazis people will laugh in your face, but if you sneak this subplot into a totally different context, it may work.....).

Boring and fake looking. Not mention that it's one huge rape fantasy for old men.

Liked it quite a lot, totally loved the scene with orcs storming Helm's Deep. And the scenes with the hot chicks. I don't need to see more in a movie really :)

Zombie Nazis? I need to see this.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
