Hmm, I most likely see the new BG to come out in September…
Looking very much forward to the new Agalloch and Holopainen's project of Scrooge, and still have to listen to the new Alcest, too.
I don't really have hopes anymore for Sonata Arctica...

Yeah, because we have a pretty sad song here, and you all seem so happy to me...!"

I think it won't quite be a superb year because I would say there'd have to be at least 10 major releases for me to consider a year superb, but I think it'll be a very good year, seeing what bands are going to release content this year and who already have.

Of bands/albums that have already released, I love the Greek Psychedelic Black Metal band Hail Spirit Noir's new album called Oi Magoi. Ashen Horde also released a good debut album that mixes Black Metal with Grindcore in a surprisingly good way. I liked the song Son of Sodom from Persuader's new album a lot, but I haven't picked up the album yet to hear it in full, but it seems promising.

I'm looking forward to Blind Guardian's new release obviously, as well as Wintersun's Time II, Agalloch's The Serpent & the Sphere, the avant-garde metal band Sigh's album Graveward, as well as some albums rumored to release this year from Cor Scorpii, Equilibrium, and Mistur.

Just realised While Heaven Wept will be releasing a new album this year...for anyone who don't know them, they play a very unique brand of Epic Proggressive Power Doom Metal (wtf, huh?),and i kid you not,and when you listen to it you totally understand how it is possible to make all those things sound incredible together.New album will be titled Suspended At Aphelion, and will be released in late 2014.

anyway, man, this forum is super dead,it's a real shame.

It's okay. They might be fading a little, but I'm pretty sure zombies are still in. The forum will just shamble along until the next release.

EDIT: Related, but man I posted here a lot for a while. Maybe 75 posts in the last 3 years and I'm still at a post a day.

So far it's a pretty great year. I like the new releases of Freedom Call, Edguy, Sabaton and Alestorm alot. And there's some other pretty great stuff waiting for me.

To sum it up: Van Canto, Transatlantic, Sonata Arctica, Tuomas Holopainen, Neal Morse (maybe even a prog album this year), Unisonic Falconer, Accept, Hammerfall, Threshold... they say Evergrey made a pretty good album too.

And then there's gonna be new albums by Harmony, maybe Orden Ogan, and who knows I'll check out the new Haken EP.

And new albums by Pink Floyd, Machine Head and Ария are also due this year which is really great :) Wish I could say that about a little and unknown band called Visually Impaired Security Man...
