Thomen rejoins Savage Circus, new album in the works

#1 Post by Andreas » 21 Apr 2012 10:43

Message on their facebook page:

Allright guys!

After quite a while of silence from SC we´re again ready to drop some news your way.

Some of you might have thought 2009s Of Doom and Death was the last thing you´d hear from this band but this is simply not the case.

After some structural changes in the band (check out http://www.savage-circus.com and read Piets statement) we are ready with a new line-up and we are at the moment in the midst of writing new material for the third album wich should be due at the end of this year.

Anyway, I suppose you are curious about the new line-up so here goes.

Jens Carlsson - Vocals
Emil Norberg - Guitars
Mi Shuren - Keyboards
Thorsten "Toto" Hein - Guitars

And finally on mighty drumming Mr Thomen Stauch!

Yeah thats right, he´s back!

As written, new stuff is being written as we speak and we should be able to let you guys hear some clips in some months from now and we´ll try to keep you updated along the way as we make progress on the new for now untitled album.

Cheers guys!

/The Band

FUCK YEAH!
I spoke to Thomen a long while ago via email, and asked him what bands he was involved in, he said it was just Coldseed, and that there was another new power metal band that was in the works. I don't know what happened to that, and I really didn't like Coldseed, but... FUCK YEAH. Savage Circus without Thomen is like a cream puff with no cream.
I can't think of anything clever to put here.

Nice to see the Thomenator back in action! Never really cared of Savage Circus, on the other hand.
By the way: that new power metal band should've been a project with David DeFeis of Virgin Steele. Seems they got nowhere with that, though...
"Well, I was about to announce the next song, but I think we'll have to skip it...
Yeah, because we have a pretty sad song here, and you all seem so happy to me...!"

Pity that Piet is out, though. I really have come to like his vocals on Dreamland Manor and the Iron Savior-stuff lately. But nice indeed to see Thomen back alive and kicking.

Ninja-assassins contracted by inferior bands to kill Thomen.

But Thomen knows. He can see the unseen. Kick the unkicked. And also he can play the drums.

Piet wrote all the music for both their albums though, so the band still has huge potential to suck with Thomen in the band, he's just the drummer after all, and had no real input in the songwriting process. I honestly cant think of any reason besides idol worship that you guys even care if Thomen is in the band or not. Mike Terrana was a great, if not better, drummer on Of Doom And Death, which was a better album than Dreamland Manor.
