The Kuttenthread - patch/battle vests

#1 Post by Dentarthurdent » 01 Nov 2011 16:07

Hey folks!

Well, do any of you guys have their own Metal jacket/vest?

I'm rather interested in this topic, especially how it is in other countries. Would be cool if there could be some exchange about that.

I'll probably post a pic of mine soon, I have to take some ne ones one fo these days...

I do, but it is currently under revision. I'll post a pic when I'm done.

It's legendary already now.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
-- Martin Walkyier

So, just want to show that you're not alone:

Obviously, it isn't finished yet (will it ever be either?)

Have you made the Elvenking-patch by yourself?

And yes, the Elvenking was hand-embroidered by myself.

I saw this tv show called 'embarrassing bodies' the other night, and I swear, HAD this topic been about pussy (yeah .... still not over it that it isn't :( ) I'd have something really insightful to share with you lots. But since this isn't the case, I guess I shall take this experience with me into my grave.

So, Alestorm and Sonata Arctica were unfortunately banished from the vest and I still need to find a new place for the Testament one, the front didn't change, but after some festivals and hours on eBay, here's the updated back:

(Obviously, the patches on the sides at the buttom aren't sewn on yet, but they will be ;))
And sorry for the blurry pic, but the camera of my mobile phone sucks like hell and I don't have another one...

Kind of, there was someone on eBay who did it. I'm surprised of the good printing and the rather high quality of the used material. Only negative point is the size, but I think I got along quite well...

Is it me being blind or do I detect a gross alck ofPrieston that one? Otherwise, it looks pretty good. Especially the back.

You're blind. The "I'm A Rocker" patch is a Priest one.
Most probably a printed bootleg though. The pretty ugly logo is hidden by the bend of the vest and the collar...

Nope, that's an official one, though somewhat older. Found that one in the mixed box at a Goddess of Desire-stall a yearor two ago.

My latest battle jacket:

I've kept this one deliberately understated; my others (two of them) are full of patches. I may add a few more in the future, but right now I'm really liking the understated look.

I created the backpatch from a long sleeve t-shirt so I'm fairly sure it's unique!

I'm going to be making at least 2 more but this is the first one I did. Feel like I could make the second one look better. My 3rd is going to be a Black Label Society vest. I see a lot of vests at the shows I go to in Houston. Luckily Houston (Texas in general) has a really fucking good doom metal scene so I get to go to a lot of badass local shows as well as the majority of big name metal bands.
