I think a more appropriate question here would be "Time Where the Fuck is Time"
And The Lord said unto John: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'.
But John came fifth, and won a toaster.

Agreed, it also doesn't help that the last website update was over a year ago, and not really an update, just canceling all shows.

Quote by Jari himself on the Wintersun forum:
Little update:

I´ve put the mixing on hold for now, because of the RAM problem. I need a 64-bit DAW badly. And also because in the beginning of February when I started to mix, some construction company started "conveniently" building new buildings in my backyard. Just my fucking luck! I´ve had to listen to terrible noise 10 hours a day. I tried to mix in that noise for a month with loud volume levels and I damaged my ears, so I had to just quit and rest my ears.

Right now I´m focusing building my so called "studio" again from the ground. Installing acoustic panels and bass traps & calibrating monitors again, figuring out the cabling, eliminating all the machine´s humming in my room so that I can mix with quiet levels etc...

Also I´m focusing on the upcoming live shows, practising, doing vocals etc... We are also upgrading and redesiging our whole live gear setup, which takes lot of work and planning.

The mixing will hopefully continue sometime in summer / late summer when the shows are over. We are doing few extra shows by the way. Announcements soon! We are excited to get back on the stage, especially with some new material!

The development story for the album are becoming more hilarious than the Stratovarius' "Miss K era"

Really, I'd bet 20$ that half of the album is not even written yet.

I never got the hype of Wintersun. I've heard some songs and it's good for cookiemonstervokillz metal, but I can't say I'm impressed.

True, but it was also announced several years ago. This album hasn't had that much time yet. (man, the puns never end do they?)

i totally forgot that it was April Fools day lol. But no this is what ive heard.

This is what ive heard that the reason for its delay now is basically they ran out of money. There label decided to help them out more, but only if they play some shows. Like i said before this is just what ive heard, im not saying this as fact.

Wintersun official website wrote:Hello friends!

Time for some album(s) news. Wintersun's "Time" is going to be two albums, titled TIME I & TIME II. We made this decision simply because of few reasons:

- All the 80min of material won´t fit on a regular CD and we didn´t want to cut anything out.

- We want you to be able to hear new material sooner and not wait any longer and we want to go on tour sooner.

- The music is very full and complex, so listening this kind of "hard listening (not easy listening)" material straight for 80 minutes is a bit too much (even for me). Both albums will be approx. nice 40 min epic packages of fireworks.

- We like the idea of releasing two albums within one year, so the band will stay more visible longer, which is important in these "modern times". No more years of silence for us!

We hope you´ll approve our new little "plan" and support us when the "Time" comes!

The tracklisting for TIME I looks like this:

TIME I

1. When Time Fades Away
2. Sons of Winter and Stars
I Rain of Stars
II Surrounded by Darkness
III Journey Inside a Dream
IV Sons of Winter and Stars
3. Land of Snow and Sorrow
4. Darkness and Frost
5. Time

TIME I mix is set to be finished by July, mastered in the beginning of July and released in early fall of 2012! TIME II will be released in 2013. Conception of album artworks, videos, live shows incl. rehearsals will keep us busy during the summer and I´ll also continue mixing TIME II meanwhile. We´ll be hopefully posting some videos and teasers during summer. Also some new live show announcements soon, so stay tuned for those!

We can´t wait for you guys to hear TIME I material and play it to you live! Have a great summer!

Jari & Wintersun boys
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
(approximately 14 of the 'A's up there are hyperbole for dramatic effect.)

Will probably be delayed again because Jari's computer gets damaged or something.

Maybe it'll get scratched, and he'll have to renovate his studio.
Then move to Spain.
I can't think of anything clever to put here.

Bumped, as the release date is set to October 19th, in just a couple of weeks.

I'm psyched. Been playing the first album on repeat for the last couple of days.

Welp, the album leaked and I couldn't help myself, so I'm listening to it now. (I've preordered it already, however).

I gotta say, there certainly is a shitload of stuff going on here, the orchestrations and keyboard stuff are pretty massive.

More importantly though: This stuff is fucking awesome. You're alright in my books, Jari. You're alright.

Yeah, the intro is fecking gorgeous, and it flows beautifully into the first song, which is just 13 minutes of absolute epicness.

My only gripe so far is that this album is just too bloody short! I hope Time II comes out as soon as possible.
