Old-school Death Metal is infinitely superior to modern so-called tech-Death blasturbation.

And it's indeed one fine album. And probably their best.

Sort of. You can't call Entombed or Dismember melo death either. But yeah, they still have more melodic lines than those like Nile, Morbid Angel or even C.Corpse, maybe that's why I preffer the Swedish scene.

By TechDeath blasturbation/wankery, I meant any of these soulless "look at me" show off bands like Braindrill, Necrophagist, Beneath the Massacre and such. Idiots who think fast arpeggios with lots of breakdowns and time changes make up for the lack of songwritting skills.

Morbid Angel and CC aren't trying to be melodic. Death did, and Death is probably more melodic than most of the Sedish bands. I love the Swedish scene for totally different reasons than the American DM scene. You're right though, both Dismember and Entombed's first albums are more akin to American DM.
