Dragonland - Cassiopeia

Beautiful queen of the waters
Borne by celestial mother
Sublime, astrological divinity

Tarnished for vain intervention
She sacrificed godlike ascension
Stripped of Olympian serenity

Solar winds will carry me
Far away from here
Take me to my journey's end

Hear a goddess cry
A silent hopeless sigh
From a sanctum divine

From the stars she still whispers
Envied among all her sisters
Entwined in a kingdom of infinity

The tears of an astral descension
Derived from her moonlit dimension
A star that is fading to obscurity

"So my wings will carry me
Far away from home
Bring me to my final rest"

Hear a goddess cry
A silent hopeless sigh
From a sanctum divine

Hear a godless cry
When astral angels die
In a sanctum divine
Mighty Jihadi Warrior against the Cows of Hades

Hate Eternal - Nailed to Obscurity

Contenders to the throne of I
confined and diseased in a life so habitual.
Epitome of my creation.
Weak attempts in a world you could never grasp.

I demand the blood
drained from the bodies of the ones who deceive me.
I demand the flesh
stripped off from the flesh and burnt of its sanctity.
I demand the souls
cast into fires of an everlasting Hell.
I demand the memory
erased from my mind and never to return.

Evil as fuck. Not very deep, perhaps, but screw that. Deep lyrics are gay. :mrgreen:

TMBG - Particle Man

Particle Man, Particle Man
Doing the things a particle can
What's he like, it's not important
Particle Man

Is he a dot, or is he a speck
When he's underwater, does he get wet
Or does the water get him instead
Nobody knows, Particle Man

Triangle Man, Triangle Man
Triangle man hates Particle Man
They have a fight, Triangle wins
Triangle Man

Universe Man, Universe Man
Size of the entire universe man
Usually kind to smaller men
Universe Man

He's got a watch with a minute hand
Millennium hand and an eon hand
And when they meet it's a happy land
Powerful man, Universe Man

Person Man, Person Man
Hit on the head with a frying pan
Lives his life in a garbage can
Person Man

Is he depressed or is he a mess
Does he feel totally worthless
Who came up with Person Man
Degraded man, Person Man

Triangle man, Triangle Man
Triangle man hates Person Man
They have a fight, Triangle wins
Triangle Man

Porcupine Tree - Collapse The Light Into Earth

I won't shiver in the cold
I won't let the shadows take their toll
I won't cover my head in the dark
And I won't forget you when we part

Collapse the Light Into Earth

I won't heal given time
I won't try to change your mind
I won't feel better in the cold light of day
But I wouldn't stop you if you wanted to stay

Collapse the Light Into Earth
Nothing is sacred when no one is saved, Nothing's forever so count your days
Nothing is final and no one is real, Pray for tomorrow and find your empty still

Dark Moor- Somewhere in dreams

I let the words speak for themselves..

Through the old valley of golden trees
In the land of elves
A young boy hated the line that destiny
Wrote out on his race
He sighed for the fire
He sighed for the wind
And the rain on the face
Far away from kingdom lit by the blaze
Lost in a strange place

Somewhere in dreams there is a way
Vast towers and gardens
Somewhere in dreams there is a bay
Full of fantasy

Dragons in my dreams
Look for the glory
In the time's stream
I just can flee
Dragons in my dreams
Tell us the story
Where the sunset beams
I will be free

And he woke one morning in elves? land
His heart was in chains
And the king of the elves couldn't understand
Believed him insane
But every night his soul wished to race
Through the seven seas
Watching the stars in the deep space
Out of his agony

In the white land of dreams there is a way
High mountain and forests
Words on the wind that sweetly say
Full of fantasy

Dragons in my dreams
Look for the glory
In the time's stream
I just can flee
Dragons in my dreams
Tell us the story
Where the sunset beams
I will be free
[/b]
Carved in the stones lies my tribute to universe

my words speak in vain for a silent poetry

hear me all mighty I ask for your wisdom

Your path will be mine when I reach eternity

THE DUSKFALL - STRIVING TO HAVE NOTHING

A man can`t foresee it
His own destiny is written
All guessing is useless
Just to do what you have to
To get by

Another road taken
Another bridge is going to fall
Too many dices thrown
For the sake of his own

Explorations ended
Opportunities lost along the way
Reletionship lying dead

Strive to have nothing done right
To have nothing to live for
To have only existed
And you call it life

Strive to have nothing done right
Nothing to hang on to
To have only existed
And you call it life

You can`t go around it
All our destinies are written
All denying is useless
Just another breed wasting their days

A wrong turn taken
Another life fading away
Too many rules
Made to protect themselves

Explorations...

Strive...

The ashes drift away, smoke of our confusion
We turn our frightened faces to each other, say goodbye
Waited for the sign, waited for the moment
Waited for the miracle to arrive
I guess they lied

Look at your future
Take a look at your burning sky
Look at your future
Look at your burning sky

The others, they have gone
Who wants to live forever
With nothing left to hold on to the past that we once knew?
We believed in heaven, we believed in angels
With arms of purest white to hold us, catch us when we fall

Look at your future
Take a look at your burning sky
Look at your future
Now look at your burning sky

Now it's omega zero day
The red star shines its last rays
The sun that gave us life yesterday
Is now the sun that takes our lives away

Uriah Heep - Paradise/The Spell

I feel you trying,
though in my heart I know you're lying.
And though your love for me is dying,
I see you crying.

It's the pain of your secret heart
bringing you to tears, filling you with fears
for your mind and for your soul.

I touch you softly now,
born on by hope until the end, somehow.
I am a man and I must keep my vows,
I must go on.

But the wall of your secret heart
keeps my distance clear, helps my footsteps fall
back in line inside my mind.

What's the use? You turned me loose
and left me here to cry.
Where's the love we talked about?
Where's my sunny sky?
Secret hearts and sorry tales
will never help love grow.
Spread your wings my darkened soul,
the time has come to go.
I will not be hurried down
or blackened by you lies.
I must go and find my dreams
and live in paradise.

(Repeat and fade)

What do you think I am? Do you think I'm dreaming?
Don't you know I know what it is you're schemeing?
Who did you think gave you the right,
hidden by the dead of night,
to take the world and turn it upside down,
when it should be round?

It seems I made it just in time
to use my reason and my rhyme
to save us from the evils of your mind.

I will cast the spell, be sure I cast it well.
I will light a fire, kindled with desire.
I'll fill you with fear so you'll know I'm here
and I won't be treated like a fool.
Stop what you're pretending, there'll be no happy ending.
I'm alive and darkness is my tool.

But when the night is over,
and daytime steals your cover,
the goodness of the morning sun
will wear away what you have done
and leave you cold.

I have no need for moonlight.
You're wrong to trust in sunlight.
For I exist, not just in storms,
but in life itself, in so many forms
to leave you cold.

I will leave you now, but you wont defeat me.
You had best beware when you come to meet me.
Love and truth will follow me,
an army of reality,
brought from every corner of the world.

You will never break the spell.
I summon all the fires of hell
and this is my advice for what it's worth:

Let us not begin this fight we cannot win.
Be sure you're watching me.
Cause all through your life,
every day and every night

Lasst uns doch zusammen scheinen, lasst uns wieder glühn!

Lasst uns doch zusammen scheinen, lasst uns wieder glühn!

Wir sind allein über Millionen Sterne,
wenn wir zusammen scheinen, können wir die Welt erhellen.
Sind wir auch klein, sieht man uns doch von ferne,
wenn wir zusammen scheinen durchs dunkle Tor der Welt.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
-- Martin Walkyier

In fact it was close to a real fallout
everything's under control
the speaker said with a serious smile
behind his mask
he knew the truth
I'll bring a new age of better days
the TV preacher said
just pay today
pay today

World's dressed in black
on earth's judgement day
and I?
I know it can't go on
forbidden signs increase
I'm sitting still at home
and watching

Born in a mourning hall
pale clouds feared the unborn child
then it grew up with growing plans
of suicide
born in a mourning hall
shadows left the fear inside
that Peter Pan will never reach
the other side

It's frightening
exciting to sit at home
and watch the burning fields
get
hypnotized by the TV snake

Obey and work hard
and feel no anger
just sympathy for the higher class
there's no chance in changing things
cause I am

born in a mourning hall
silent cries ran out
when the cradle breaks
broken dreams were unheared on
the other side
born in a mourning hall
shadows left the fear
in the new born child
that Peter Pan will never reach
the other side

And I'm a part of the machine
a puppet on the strings
a rebel, once
now I'm an old man

Oh, I know this can't go on
but the ghost called fear inside
lames my tongue, my nerves, my mind
eternal fall down
someone cut the strings off
I can't move
to get back courage
I've to face the truth
but not today
goodbye

Born in a mourning hall
caught inside a web called life
the only way to get out soon
is suicide
born in a mourning hall
pale souls built a frozen world
infected brains
will never reach the other side
the other side

--
A lot of things occur each day
We've got to live with on our way
There's so much misery on the screen
With commercials in between

And the Russians won't be so late
Uncle Sam don't wanna wait
No matter if you're black or white
You never ever had a right

And look up to the eternal skies
See warfare even there
What once has been a paradise
Now destruction and despair

In other worlds the children die
Lacking food ill from a fly
Oppressed by troops to tame their land
It's all the same again

If any man is free on earth
Then tormentors steal his birth
They slam gun butts in his face
And leave his woman choked in mace

So stand up for our human rights
Push back this pest of hate
Raise you voice pass on the light
Unite! it's not too late

How many tears flow away
To become a sea of fears
How many hearts are torn apart
Till another torment starts

But before the world
Turns into a sun
All cruelty and violence
On earth will be dead and gone

So stand up for our human rights
Push back this pest of hate
Raise you voice pass on the light
Unite! It's not too late
--

From memories of '68 when the wizard shook the world
Metal came from foundries where the midlands sound unfurled
The bullring was a lonely place of concrete towers and steel
The coal mines and the industries were all I had to feel

Something inside took hold of me, I really didn't know
But overtime it came to be, I knew which way to go
I drove around in search of what would make this all come true
From jazz and electricity and good old southern blues

Hell, we're born to raise some hell
Hell, we're gonna raise some hell

In henry's and in mother's where I'd go to bang my head
The feeling took a hold of me with every word I said
The voice was born and came alive from all I saw and heard
And now I knew my destiny, I had to spread the word.

I took the scream around the world
From London to L.A
Unleashed in downtown Tokyo
Blew Godzilla away

Then on the sound and fury went from Sidney to Brazil
It sent the Russians crazy cause they never get their fill

Of hell, we're born to raise some hell
Hell, we're gonna raise some hell
Hell, we're born to raise some hell
Hell, we're gonna raise some hell

The stage and the lights and the amps are ablaze, watch them burn
From all this insanity the Metal Gods will return

Shock waves attack relentlessly, intimidating force
So many bands surrounding you with evil from our source
It screams across the universe and slams you to the floor
This blitzkrieg psycho mania is coming on full roar
The world's a stage that's waiting for its bad ass to get kicked
And we're all on the road to hell and that's route 666

Hell, we're born to raise some hell
Hell, we're gonna raise some hell
--

It's the same old song you gotta be somewhere at sometime
nd they never let you fly
It's like broken glass you get cut before you see it
so open up your eyes

You've got desire so let it out
you've got the power
stand up and shout
shout shout stand up and shout

You got wings of steel but they never really move you
you only seem to crawl
You've been nailed to the wheel but never really turning
you know you've got to want it all

You've got desire so let it out
you've got the power
stand up and shout
shout stand up and shout
let it out

You are the strongest chain and not just some reflection
so never hide again

You are the driver you own the road
you are the fire go on explode
You've got desire so let it out
you've got the power
stand up and shout
hoy
Stand up and shout
let it out
stand up and shout
You're going to hell. But not the cool one, that's where I'll go.
You go to the crappy hell.

You don't know Dio's Stand Up and Shout? :shock:
"There's a time when a man needs to fight and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny's lost, the ship has sailed and that only a fool will continue. The truth is I've always been a fool"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A slight call afar is tempting me, like a whisper sweet or an awful scream; I cannot ignore what I've always been, I'm leaving again - one last time? in my little kingdom I can be what I really wanted to be... The wanderer
Dark Tranquillity-Format C: For Cortex
Mental Blindfolds on
Early on the fascination intense
How to discern just where right belongs
Something has got to give
These things I just don't want you to see
There is no need for you to start revolutions
I don't want you to talk to the minions
Just show me a brand new face
An open mind against a dying race
Something has got to give
These things I just don't want you to hear
Something has got to give
These things I just don't want you to feel
Cannot fail in this the era of losers
Burnt the shell of those that once held the torches
Cannot give you the senses anew
Nor will you know innocence again
Something has got to give
These things I just don't want you to know
In time all your questions will be answered
Not what you hoped for, not what you dreamed
All preconceptions crumble
Something has got to give
These things I just don't want you to learn
Won't hold up to the standards you keep
Never came from the formative years
Just show me a brand new mind
Keep in what you left behind
Something has got to give
These things I just don't want you to be
Skyclad-No Deposit, No Return
I remember my grandmother sat with her radio,
tea cup and walking stick set by her side.
As her old fingers reached out to turn up the volume,
I learnt what it meant to be bursting with pride.
She told me some tales of wars great and last,
black and white film stars sha'd liked in the past.
Taught me a few songs she'd learnt as a child,
stunned by her wisdom I listened and smiled.
She said to me "Lad, if you'll be a musican,
go out and be one - but one with conviction.
If there's just one lesson the young ought to learn,
it's pay no deposit and get no return."
Get no return.
Pay no deposit and get no return.
On time faded photographs I've seen an airman,
Stood next to the wings of a flying machine
and given the choice well I think I would rather
have done what I've done than have seen what he's seen.
I think that the Old Man feels really quite proud,
when he sits at the wheel and turns it up loud,
but imagined his son a lawyer or broker,
not sat on a bus full of drinkers and tokers.
He said to me "Son you can do as you please,
but always stand stright - never crawl on your knees.
If there's just one lesson the young ought to learn,
it's pay no deposit and get no return."
If there's just one lesson the young ought to learn,
it's pay no deposit and get no return.
Get no return.
Pay no deposit and get no return.
I've such a short time to tell you so much,
words come second best to a kiss or a touch.
Far thicker than water this blood we all share,
So please don't think that for you I don't care.
Fate may have driven us all separate ways,
but can't sever ancestry - splice D. N. A.
If life seems a road thats uneven and long,
to know where you're going just look Who you came from.
Many have said I take after my mother,
for her '67 was not a good year.
Though often I make her annoyed like no other,
through thick and through thin she has always been near.
Sometimes in the cold now I catch myself smiling,
'bout some stupid joke or a christmas tree shining.
I stood there so small 'neath that glittering tower,
it's memory a beacon in my darkest hour.
She said to me "Martin, whatever you'll be,
there's no such thing as a meal thats for free.
If there's just one lesson the young ought to learn,
it's pay no deposit and get no return."
If there's just one lesson the young ought to learn,
it's pay no deposit and get no return.
Get no return.
Pay no deposit and get no return.
Skyclad-Troublesometimes
High above the sleeping city streets where we've all grown
A silent evil Slithers through the dawn.
Blissful in our ignorance - God how could we have known
Today would be the day we learn to mourn?
The Shades of old dictators rise,
Impassive eyes - cold hearted.
Watch their 'wunderkinder' try to finish what they started.
The morning sky had barely yielded to the sun's caress,
When from the hills came 'Yellow Wasps' in swarm.
Zvornik wakes - discovers what a devil of a mess,
A fragile peace can look when it's been torn.
Now we stand like broken statues 'midst the wreckage of our homes,
Try to recognize our children by the ragsupon their bones.
Out of the 'Cold War' into the ceasefire flame!
Opened wounds - unsettled scores,
An ancient hate - new icons.
The front line starts at our back doors
'Cause bygones won't be bygones.
Cleanse the bloodline - start the cull,
Nazi roulette - six chambers full
Fail to read the warning signs,
Find yourself in Troublesometimes
While common sense had turned it's back
A shadow crossed our nation,
Can mourning mothers veiled in black sing songs of liberation?
Out of the 'Cold War' into the ceasefire flame!
Opened wounds - unsettled scores,
An ancient hate - new icons.
The front line starts at our back doors
'Cause bygones won't be bygones.
Through a mask of tears and cinder -
Watch your cornfields burn like tinder.
Fail to read the warning signs,
Find yourself in Troublesometimes
Demons and Wizards-Terror Train
I'm awake so
You better feed me now
I won't slow down
Once we have left this town
Rhymes and riddles
I'm still sleepy so
You must hurry
Please take your seats
You'll stay with me
Be with me
I'll be with you
I'll be with you
No one really knows the pain I'm going through
My final ride is almost done
The World has moved on now
It's time to go
My final ride is almost done
Come lift my spirit up, I'm Blaine!
Come lift my spirit up, I'm Blaine!
I am nothing
But a train and
I assume that you don't like me
I'm insane but
Not yet crazy
I will never let you go
Enjoy the ride you'll stay with me
Stay with me
I'll stay with you
I'll stay with you
No one really knows the pain I'm going through
My final ride is almost done
The World has moved on now
It's time to go
My final ride is almost done
Come lift my spirit up, I'm Blaine!
Come lift my spirit up, I'm Blaine!
I am the one I am the one
The godlike terror train
The superior, artificial brain
Feel free to call me Blaine
I will roll on
Riddle de-dum, I'm best
Try me, try me
I'll never fail the test
Blue's for girls and
Pink's for me
Cause
I'm the mono
Don't even dare to mess with me
No one really knows the pain I'm going through
My hate will last forevermore
The World has moved on now
It's time to go
My hate will last forevermore
Come lift my spirit up, I'm Blaine!
Come lift my spirit up, I'm Blaine!
Beneath the demon moon
Beneath the demon moon
Beneath the demon moon
Beneath the demon mooooooon
To the Bards, May the Wine Clear Your Mind
Who is this strange Devilmanozzy creature?!
NEVERMORE - Sentient 6
I'm sentient number 6
I stand in line
I am the prototype
Of a benign convenience for mankind
Superior is digital
Human flesh so trivial
I hate that I can't see
The one that made me
I am the new awakening
of different eyes
My children you are my army
They are what we can never see
And still despise
And their skies cry Mary
Trained, I see imperfection in your race
Lying in wait, blind I suffer
Knowing I'll never reach
your heaven
Why is this control?
Behavior-based and reactive
Adapting to every new environment
Rewarded when I replicate, isolate and mutate
To assimilate a fragmented plea for ego
Trained, I see imperfection in your race
Lying wait, blind I suffer
Knowing I'll never reach
your heaven is unattaintable
Please, teach me how to dream
I long to be more than a machine
[inverted speaking]
I am the beast that is technology
Sequence activate, trip the hammer to eradicate, I must eliminate
I will spread swift justice on their land
Termination imminent, cleanse the parasite insects, the heathens
I am the bringer of the end of time for man
I am not here, I am not far away
I am not here, I will eradicate mankind into the nothingness from whence they came
Enslaved to follow and learn defeat
To run the barrels and chase the dream
--
KREATOR - Enemy Of God
Shocked Orwellian races
Gather united in grief
Nothing has left from thw world they've known
Grotesque, indifferent beliefs
Systems has failed, rules can't control
Corrupt dictators forever dethroned
Lies of the priest, trust of the blind
Failure of structures manipulate deviant crimes
All nations hail the end of peace
New dawn inception of disease
Age of revenge has now been born
By the mother of all wars
Enemy of God
Purity and innocence is killed
Enemy of God
Peace died long ago when life stood still
Clash of demonic religions
Hatred the human divine
Dispotic aggressors in triumph they reign
Fanatics bring mayhem to life
War of all wars foreseen before
Freedoms foundations exist no more
A genocide nightmare the darkest of days
Chaos devourers all as hope and pride fades
Absolute mayhem sudden death
Sent from a morbid mind possessed
A godless Mecca now awaits
As hellish flames desecrates
Enemy of God
Purity and innocence is killed
Enemy of God
Peace died long ago when life stood still
Now the fury is unleashed
The hunter has become pray for the beast
Breathing savage distain
Malevolence ingrained
No emotion for humanity
Tragically the palace falls
Burned are the imperators halls
For their decadent facades
All their elitaire art
Exhibition of filth to watch for all
For those who die along the way
Timeless glory awaits
Enemy of God
Purity and innocence is killed
Enemy of God
Peace died long ago when life stood still
Nothing can divide
Terror is thy name
Last legion alive
Set the world aflame
Enemy of God
Masters you have none
Sweet the victory
When thy kingdom come
Enemy of God
Cast deliverance
Fanatical divide
Slaying innocence
Enemy of God
Answer to no one
Bringing war from heaven
A thousand fires burn
[/b]
You're going to hell. But not the cool one, that's where I'll go.
You go to the crappy hell.
Black Sabbath- Looking For Today
It´s complete but absolete
All tomorrows become yesterday
In demand but second-hand
It`s been heard before you even play
Up tto date but came too late
Better get yourself another name
You`re so right but overnight
You`re the one who has to take the blame
Everyone just gets on top of you
The pain begins to eat your pride
You can`t believe anything you knew
When was the last time that you cried
Don`t delay you`re in today
But tomorrow is another dream
Sunday`s star is Monday`s scar
Out of date before you`re even seen
At the top so quick to flop
You`re so new but rotting in decay
Like butterfly so quick to die
But you`re only looking for today
Everyone just gets on top of you
The pain begins to eat your pride
You can`t believe in anything you knew
When was the last time that you cried
Looking for today
Glamour trip soon to slip
Easy come but oh how quick it goes
Ten foot tall but what a fall
Hard to open yet so easy to close
Front page news but so abused
You just want to hide yourself away
Over-paid, but soon you fade
Because you`re only looking for today
Looking for today
Manowar! Mein Bier ist schon vader slayer!
Welle: Erdball - Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich bin gefangen in mir, mein Geist sehnt sich davon
Doch mein Körper ist gebunden im System
Dies ist hier nicht mein Leben
Dies ist nicht mein Planet
Ich seh euch rennen, schreien, fliehen vor euch selbst
Doch ich warte nicht erst auf ein Morgen
Die Flut kommt längst nicht mehr
Und so ziehe ich die Konsequenzen
Denn es gibt nichts was mich hier hält
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Denn dort oben ist die neue Welt so nah
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Und wir könnten wenn wir wollten längst dort sein
Komm und flieg mit mir davon!
Ich steh auf der Schwelle zu einer neuen Welt
Und schau noch einmal zurück
Du sagst du liebst nur mich?
Doch ich hab dich noch nie gesehen!
Ich wasche meine Hände in Unschuld
Das habe ich nicht getan
Was ihr auch denkt und tut
Dem Erbrechen bin ich nah
Jetzt steh ich über allen Dingen
Ich fang von vorne an
Und so schau ich zurück und sehe
Wie ihr euch nun selbst zerstört
Irgend etwas stimmt hier nicht mehr!
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Denn dort oben ist die neue Welt so nah
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Und wir könnten wenn wir wollten längst dort sein
(Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Denn dort oben ist die neue Welt so nah
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Und wir könnten wenn wir wollten längst dort sein)
Doch wann können wir endlich starten?
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
denn dort oben ist die neue Welt so nah
Ich bin nicht von dieser Welt
Ich will zurück auf meinen Stern
Und wir könnten wenn wir wollten längst dort sein
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
Loreena McKennitt - The old ways
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
On a dark new year's night
On the west coast of Clare
I hear your voice singing
Your eyes danced the song
Your hands played the tune
T'was a vision before me.
We left the music behind and the dance carried on
As we stole away to the seashore
We smelt the brine, felt the wind in our hair
With sadness you paused.
Suddenly I knew that you'd have to go
Your world was not mine, your eyes told me so
Yet it was there I felt the crossroads of time
And I wondered why.
As we cast our gaze on the tumbling sea
A vision came o'er me
Of thundering hooves and beating wings
In clouds above.
As you turned to go I heard you call my name.
You were like a bird in a cage, spreading its
Wings to fly
"The old ways are lost" you sang as you flew
And I wondered why.
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...
Excellent pick, Tex! :D
Not a metal-Song, but great lyrics nevertheless:
Joni Minstrel - Whiskey and Beer
Oh Master give us a pint of thy best
The courage of our men will be put to the test
Our great revolution this country will save
We just need something to help us be brave
Chorus:
Whiskey and Beer will conquer our fear
Whiskey and Beer are neede right here
To start a revolution takes courage and spunk
To start a revolution it helps to be drunk!
We' ll sing songs of bravery, the best that you've heard
Until we start slurring and forgetting the words
When our bladders feel heavy, but our heads feel light,
That's when we'll know that we're ready to fight!
Chorus
We'll get less coherent as the evening wears on
With blurry-eyed vision we'll watch for the dawn
We'll stumble into battle, our hearts will be stout
And we'll be VICTORIOUS or else we'll pass out.
Chorus
We'll pick up our weapons and aim for their chests
With balance unsteady we'll hope for the best
And if we should fail our lifes to defend
In one last act of courage we'll vomit on them!
Chorus
Oh Master give us a pint of thy best
This Minstrel's courage will be put to the test
The pub is surrounded, by dawn I'll be dead
My plan is to drink 'til I can't feel my head!
Chorus
Skellig
O light the candle, John
The daylight has almost gone
The birds have sung their last
The bells call all to mass
Sit here by my side
For the night is very long
There's something I must tell
Before I pass along
I joined the brotherhood
My books were all to me
I scribed the words of God
And much of history
Many a year was I
Perched out upon the sea
The waves would wash my tears,
The wind, my memory
I'd hear the ocean breathe
Exhale upon the shore
I knew the tempest's blood
Its wrath I would endure
And so the years went by
Within my rocky cell
With only a mouse or bird
My friend; I loved them well
And so it came to pass
I'd come here to Romani
And many a year it took
Till I arrived here with thee
On dusty roads I walked
And over mountains high
Through rivers running deep
Beneath the endless sky
Beneath these jasmine flowers
Amidst these cypress trees
I give you now my books
And all their mysteries
Now take the hourglass
And turn it on its head
For when the sands are still
'Tis then you'll find me dead
O light the candle, John
The daylight is almost gone
The birds have sung their last
The bells call all to mass
now here's someone asking the right questions:
I want the people to know
That he saved my soul
But I still like to listen to the radio
They say "Rock and Roll is wrong
We'll give you one more chance"
I say I feel so good I gotta get up and dance
I know what's right
I know what's wrong
I don't confuse it
All Im really trying to say is
Why should the devil have all the good music?
I feel good every day
cause Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues away
They say to cut my hair
They're driving me insane
I grew it out long to make room for my brain
But sometimes people don't understand
What's a good boy doing in a Rock and Roll band
There's nothing wrong with playing Blues licks
But if you've got a reason tell me straight to my face
Why should the devil have all the good music?
There's nothing wrong with what I play
cause Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues away
I ain't knocking the hymns
Just give me a song that has a beat
I ain't knocking the hymns
Just give me a song that moves my feet
I don't like none of these funeral marches
I ain't dead yet
Jesus told the truth
Jesus showed the way
There's one more thing I'd like to say:
They nailed him to the cross
They laid him in the ground
But they shoulda known you can't keep a good man down
I feel good every day
I don't wanna lose it
All I wanna all I wanna know is
Why should the devil have all the good music?
I been filled I feel okay
Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues
Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues
Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues away
The Jim Carroll Band - People Who Died
People Who Died
Teddy sniffing glue he was 12 years old
Fell from the roof on East Two-nine
Cathy was 11 when she pulled the plug
On 26 reds and a bottle of wine
Bobby got leukemia, 14 years old
He looked like 65 when he died
He was a friend of mine
(Chorus:)
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
They were all my friends, and they died
G-berg and Georgie let their gimmicks go rotten
So they died of hepatitis in upper Manhattan
Sly in Vietnam took a bullet in the head
Bobby OD'd on Drano on the night that he was wed
They were two more friends of mine
Two more friends that died / I miss 'em--they died
(Chorus)
Mary took a dry dive from a hotel room
Bobby hung himself from a cell in the tombs
Judy jumped in front of a subway train
Eddie got slit in the jugular vein
And Eddie, I miss you more than all the others,
And I salute you brother/ This song is for you my brother
(Chorus)
Herbie pushed Tony from the Boys' Club roof
Tony thought that his rage was just some goof
But Herbie sure gave Tony some bitchen proof
"Hey," Herbie said, "Tony, can you fly?"
But Tony couldn't fly . . . Tony died
(Chorus)
Brian got busted on a narco rap
He beat the rap by rattin' on some bikers
He said, hey, I know it's dangerous,
but it sure beats Riker's
But the next day he got offed
by the very same bikers
(Chorus)
I still am the terror that flaps in the night!
SAVATAGE - Alone You Breathe
You were never one for waiting
Still I always thought you'd wait for me
And have you from your dreams awakened
And from where you are what do you see
Which of us is now in exile
Which in need of amnesty
Are you now but an illusion
In my mind alone you breathe
You've believed in things that I would never know
You were out there drowning but it never showed
'Till inside a rain swept night you just let go
You've thrown it all away
And now we'll never see
The ending to the play
The grand design, the final line
And what was meant to be
In the dark a distant runner
Now has disappeared into the night
Leaving us to stand and wonder
Staring from this end into your life
You believed in things that I will never know
You were out there drowning but it never showed
'Til inside a rainswept night you just let go
You've thrown it all away
And now we'll never see the ending to the play
The grand design, the final line
And what was meant to be
And if this is all illusion
Nothing more than pure delusion
Clinging to a fading fantasy
Like Icarus who heeds the calling
Of a sun but now is falling
As the feathers of his life fall free
Can you see
See
Tomorrow and after
You tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing
That in the dark there is a clue
Perhaps inside this midnight sky
Perhaps tomorrow's newborn eyes
Or could it be, we'll never know
And after all this was the show
What am I to do
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
What am I to do
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
What am I to do
Standing on a dream isn't what it seems
Could we then reclaim a dream refused
Knowing what we know could we let it go
Realizing that all the years are used
Tomorrow and after
You tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing
That in the dark there is a clue
I am the way, I am the light
I am the dark inside the night
I hear your hopes, I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Tomorrow and after
You tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing
That in the dark there is a clue
--
SAVATAGE - Follow Me
I really want to know
What you had in store
I couldn't really tell
Perhaps it's just as well
I came here with a dream
And I just had to see
If my dream would soar
I knocked on every door
His whole life was written
Written there inside
The new weekly bible
His modern T.V. Guide
Every night he stares back at the screen, yeah
A man only sees want he wants to see
When he's in his mind
Where he is that he wants to be
Living in a world where he's safe from reality
Won't you take a chance on this night
And follow me
Won't you follow me (repeat)
Don't need no super heros
Don't need no movie stars
Don't need no politicians
In big black shiny cars
Don't need no preacher
Whose church is my T.V.
A man only sees what he wants to see
When he's in his mind
Where he is what he wants to be
Living in a world where he's safe from reality
Won't you take a chance on this night child
And follow me
Won't you follow me (repeat)
Once was a broken hero
The kind that we all know
The kind that hides inside us
For we never show
The kind we say that could never be me
His whole life was written
Written there inside
The new weekly bible
His modern T.V. Guide
Stare back at the screen, yeah yeah
A man only sees want he wants to see
You're going to hell. But not the cool one, that's where I'll go.
You go to the crappy hell.
I had to listen to that People Who Died song PKH posted the lyrics of. Now it keeps popping up in my head from time to time and getting stuck. I also feel like listening to it when I play games that involve battles of some sort.
Anyway, these are one of my favourite lyrics. Sentenced had a knack for that, simple and not really eloquent lyrics that manage to be really touching. At least to me. The fourth last line is the one that really hits the spot for me.
Sentenced - Guilt and Regret
Guilt and Regret, they are my two inbred brothers
Guilt and Regret
Oh god how I hate them both from the bottom of my heart
Guilt and Regret and me wake up into a brand new day
Guilt and Regret lively
I am still dead tired - the night has been long and hard
My brothers they ask me:
"Do you recall anything from yester-night? No?"
They laugh at me and go:
"Nothing at all? Well, it must've been an evening of joy"
Guilt and Regret
Oh god how I hate them both from the bottom of my heart
Each morning like this they come, uninvited
Pale as ghosts, reeking of compost
Yet most I abhor their bloodshot eyes
My brothers they ask me:
"Do you recall anything from yester-night? No?"
They laught at me and go:
"Nothing at all? Well, it must've been an evening of joy"
My brothers they tease me:
"Do you remember anything from yester-night? No?"
They laugh at me and go:
"Oh sure you do, we buried our little sister Hope"
Guilt and Regret and me - what a twisted family we are
Guilt and Regret
Oh god how I hate you both from the bottom of my heart
And The Lord said unto John: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'.
But John came fifth, and won a toaster.
I really love these lyrics...
Rage - No Regrets
Feel no regrets - 'cause I am Death.
Feel no regrets.
I wanna know where do we go,
Where do you take me now?
It's hard for me to let it be,
I cannot understand.
I'm still so young, I don't belong
To those who meet their end.
You always thought your first man would marry you
Now, as it seems, he just comes to bury you,.
I am this man and I'm gonna be your last,
Give me your hand, your life belongs to the past.
Icause I am Death
Feel no regrets
It's so unfair, cause everywhere
I see the blossom grow
While others try end their lifes
I want it, heaven knows.
You always thought your first man would marry you
Now, as it seems, he just comes to bury you,.
I am this man and I'm gonna be your last,
Give me your hand, your life belongs to the past.
Feel no regrets, my friend,
I will speak to those who listen.
See, I am heaven-sent.
You will find what you've been missing.
Feel no regrets, my friend,
No one ever knows the reasons
Why and when it will end.
Every life is just a season.
Feel no regrets...
FEEL NO REGRETS
The whole Suite Lingua Mortis is amazing, musical and lyrics-wise.
Raely can I sign lyrics like I cans ign these:
Tankard - Dancing On Our Grave
This living planet is dying fast
Beset by parasites a terrifying plague
Does manking have a right to life?
We take the earth for what she has and death we give
Atomic powers and acid rain
The ozone gone, you ask what's going on, we're
Dancing on our graves, careless, with no regrets
Dancing on our graves, there's no more turning back,
Eons of evolution ravaged by pollution but we're
Dancing on our Grave!
Civilization reeks of its waste
A toxic curse that lives forever on the race
Emissions killing silently
Get in teh ground, the air, the water, every tree
Tipping the balance that nature held
We aimed at others but we shot ourselves, we're
Dancing on our grave, careless, with no regrets
Dancing on our grave, there's no more turning back,
An eco-revolution is the sole solution but we're
Dancing on our grave!
Pleading for nature is trendy now
Deeds are replaced by words while time is running out
We didn't care for much too long
Catastrophes, extinctions, cancer prove us wrong
The train of "progress" still races on
Straight to the gates of hell, bid you farewell, we're
Dancing on our grave, careless, with no regrets,
Dancing on our grave, there's no more turning back
Once man has been erased the world might be a better place, we're
Dancing on our grave!
But what troubles me most is that these lyrics were written in 1990, and now, almost 20 years later, not much has changed. Fuck mankind.
Another New Model Army lyric, because Justin Sullivan's lyrics are simply the best.
New Model Army - Killing
It was summer when they finally came, the law of force
and line upon line of machine upon machine, back into the greenwood,
closer to the heart of things we go - beneath the wires stretched against the sky,
spitting out in desperation - stop the killing . . .
The wind blows down from St George's Hill through to Stanworth Woods,
and to the East, on this grey and pallid dawn the lights from the rigs
blinking out across the poisoned sea, a little group of ships floating out to meet the coming storm
sailing on in desperation - stop the killing . . .
Raised and bound upon the land, and the everlasting whispers in diamond
through the trees, in the breath of Eden . . .
Innocent still the faith we hold - our time will come . . .
That which walks the corridors of power is a virus that mutates;
immune to all resistance, and every turn of history . . .
And all that's left for us is marking crosses upon doors,
and scrawling in the golden sand before each tide comes rolling in;
screaming out in desperation - stop the killing . . .
Holding on, and out, forever . . .
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
Rebel lyrics kick ass! Anyone has some more?
Kreator - Reconquering The Throne
Paralysed the actions of the weak
Force fed propaganda
Preying on the meek
Individuals resisting defeat
Manipulate the colonies
Infected by their seed
Vampires of possession
Shroud of cold distrust
Watching as you finally fall
Then drag you through the dust
The only way tosave your soul
From scum with hearts of stone
Reconquering the throne!
Parasites have drained you from your mind
Anesthisize your conscience
Infliction will take time
Fools once trusted, uilty of the crime
Suck deep upon your energy
Delusions lead the blind
Reconquering the throne!
Our rising has begun...
A million hearts
Not alone
Light the spark
Storm the throne!
KREATOR - Radical Resistance
Atheists with a strong believe
In the powers of intuition
Fundamentalists, a lying truth
Cultural bigotery
Warlords, loss of freedom
Democratic anachronism
The people rage beyond control
Paris burns again
All addicted to the dark side of life
Cast out but not alone
We're the ones that will not compromise
Antidote to slavery, suffering and war
Now the time has come for us
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Radical resistance now!
Terrorists with a strong belief
In afterlife salvation
Mobs of mute citizens
Purifiers of the throne
Aggressive christianity
Poison for the troops
Infant soldiers die for peace
Bleeding innocence at the front
All addicted to the dark side of life
Cast out but not alone
We're the ones that will not compromise
Antidote to lies both new and old
Now the time has come for us
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Radical resistance now!
People from the east
People from the west
Everywhere under the sun
People from the north
People from the south
Kill the unkillable as one
As one as one as one!
People from the east
People from the west
Everywhere under the sun
People from the north
People from the south
Kill the unkillable as one
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Radical resistance
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Unite to fight
Radical resistance now!
i just love these lyrics
Sepultura - Refuse/Resist
Chaos a.d.
tanks on the streets
confronting police
bleeding the plebs
raging crowd
burning cars
bloodshed starts
who'll be alive?!
Chaos a.d.
army in siege
total alarm
i'm sick of this
inside the state
war is created
no man's land
what is this shit?!
Refuse/resist
refuse
Chaos a.d.
disorder unleashed
starting to burn
starting to lynch
silence means death
stand on your feet
inner fear
your worst enemy
Refuse/resist
refuse/resist
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
On a dark new year's night
On the west coast of Clare
I hear your voice singing
Your eyes danced the song
Your hands played the tune
T'was a vision before me.
We left the music behind and the dance carried on
As we stole away to the seashore
We smelt the brine, felt the wind in our hair
With sadness you paused.
Suddenly I knew that you'd have to go
Your world was not mine, your eyes told me so
Yet it was there I felt the crossroads of time
And I wondered why.
As we cast our gaze on the tumbling sea
A vision came o'er me
Of thundering hooves and beating wings
In clouds above.
As you turned to go I heard you call my name.
You were like a bird in a cage, spreading its
Wings to fly
"The old ways are lost" you sang as you flew
And I wondered why.
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you.
They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway.
They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...
Still the goddamn Batman.
t.a.j - nice one, Loreena McKennitt :)
The Levellers always write such bleak, patriotic songs, here's one of my faves:
SELL-OUT
The year was 1991, it seems that freedom is dead and gone
The power of the rich is held by few
Keep the young paralyzed, educated by your lies
Keep the old ones happy with the news
Tell the singer not to song his song
Tell the poet that she's wrong
And in the courts you'll win the case with lies
Cos you sold them down the river-o
Do I belong to some ancient race
I like to walk in ancient places
These are things that I can understand
I don't believe in your modern way
Don't care about the things you say
Your policies have failed the test of time
Cos you sold them down the river-o
Now in a land not far away, there's men in prison because they say
The colour of your skin is not a question
Did you rally to their side
No, you sat back and let them die
I don't know how you get to sleep at night
Your money market goes round and round
The pound goes up, the dollar goes down
You need the power for your new towns
Cos you get scared when the night comes down
Won't you tell me where it is that we are bound
.......and you deserve us, Leviathan
now THIS is a well written song,check it out
Nevermore - Poison Godmachine
The media machine knows what to do
It knows how to feed the poison to you
Useless information for your useless little lives
The tv lies and pacifies
Do you believe everything you see?
Children of the void come follow me
Denounce your faith and penance the savior is unseen
I am the new drug, your poison godmachine....poison
Poison godmachine
Poison is a word, God is a word used for fear
[solo J.L.]
[solo T.C.]
In subtlety we obey through ink and broadcast wave
The doubts and fears that shadow media decay
Deprogram this affliction and the cathode ray unclean
I am the last nail, the empty soulless screen.....soulless
Poison godmachine
And we eat the poison, we created the poison godmachine
Marillion - Pseudo-silk Kimono
Huddled in the safety of a pseudo-silk kimono
Wearing bracelets of smoke, naked of understanding
Nicotine smears, long, long dried tears, invisible tears
Safe in my own words, learning from my own words,
Cruel joke, cruel joke...
Huddled in the safety of a pseudo-silk kimono
A morning mare rides in the starless shutters of my eyes
The spirit of a misplaced childhood is rising to speak his mind
To this orphan of heartbreak, disillusioned and scarred,
A refugee, a refugee...
Safe
In the sanctuary
Safe
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
This song is by an industrial rock band named KMFDM. They're an awesome band and this is one of their most 'inspirational' songs.
"Dogma"
All we want is a headrush
All we want is to get out of our skin for a while
We have nothing to lose because we don't have anything
Anything we want anyway...
We used to hate people
Now we just make fun of them
It's more effective that way
We don't live
We just scratch on day to day
With nothing but matchbooks and sarcasm in our pockets
And all we are waiting for is for something worth waiting for
Let's admit America gets the celebrities we deserve
Let's stop saying "Don't quote me" because if no one quotes you
You probably haven't said a thing worth saying
We need something to kill the pain of all that nothing inside
We all just want to die a little bit
We fear that pop-culture is the only culture we're ever going to have
We want to stop reading magazines
Stop watching T.V.
Stop caring about Hollywood
But we're addicted to the things we hate
We don't run Washington and no one really does
Ask not what you can do for your country
Ask what your country did to you
The only reason you're still alive is because someone
Has decided to let you live
We owe so much money we're not broke we're broken
We're so poor we can't even pay attention
So what do you want?
You want to be famous and rich and happy
But you're terrified you have nothing to offer this world
Nothing to say and no way to say it
But you can say it in three languages
You are more than the sum of what you consume
Desire is not an occupation
You are alternately thrilled and desperate
Skyhigh and fucked
Let's stop praying for someone to save us and start saving ourselves
Let's stop this and start over
Let's go out - let's keep going
This is your life - this is your fucking life
We need something to kill the pain of all that nothing inside
Quit whining you haven't done anything wrong because frankly
You haven't done much of anything
Someone's writing down your mistakes
Someone's documenting your downfall
Si vis pacem, para bellum
