It's awesome! I'd say Wither was the weakest point, and A Rite of Passage I'd say is good but not great, but the epics are incredible! And despite some complaints that The Shattered Fortress reuses too many themes from the other parts of the AA Suite, I think it progresses them nicely. I don't think people quite understand what a suite is. :? But yeah, if you like Dream Theater get, if you don't, check it out anyway.

(Yes, I know I'm not rdyfrde, but I figured I'd answer anyway 8) )

METALOCALYPSE Seasons 1 and 2

#2380 Post by Hansi Smurf » 01 Aug 2009 22:37

I had free TV for 5 months since Feb. 27.

I quit it fer the $65.00 a month Shaw wants fer it's shit, but before I quit TV last week, I had begun to stay up till nearly 6 in the morning for a while, being mostly bed-ridden and wanting only the best TV for my pseudo-money, and I was extremely pleased to be lucky enuff to become a supporter of "Metalocalypse", on at 4:30 AM on Canada's Teletoon Network in Winnipeg, thus possibly missed by most honest Winnipeggers.

This show kicks some serious ass. An animated cartoon, "Metalocalypse" stars "DethKlok", a death-metal band possessing an G7-sized economy and the attention of the entire Illuminati!

I bought Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, and am now asking $100 000.00 American each!

DETHKLOK! DETHKLOK! DETHKLOK!

Bought today:
Amorphis - Skyforger (limited edition)

Waited a bit to buy this because I didn't want to buy the first version with these "errors". Now got the corrected version including the bonus track.

It's not bad. Though it tends to drag in a lot of places. Not as bad as Octavarium (which I hate) but not as good as Systematic Chaos.

Yeah I did. I assume most of my posts got pruned. It's sick to think that I used to be in 7th place for a while with 5000 some odd posts. Ah well, I'll just have to build it up again. Too bad the song title topic hasn't been resurrected ;)

I hope your not serious. Octavarium is fantastic, both the album, and most especially the song. Systematic Chaos I would honor with the description "exceedingly average." Systematic Chaos might actually be my least favorite of their albums (maybe, I'm not really positive on that), but then again, I haven't listened to Falling into Infinity. :)
But seriously, how can you argue with tracks like These Walls, Never Enough, Panic Attack, etc. (I really like I Walk Beside You as well, even if it is like hearing U2). And Octavarium is definitely one of their best songs, if not the best. I mean, with the wonderful melodies at the beginning, and then the incredible build up to the epic climax, it's just absolutely fantastic!

I do agree that Black Clouds & Silver Linings lies between those two though. Well, except that I think it's better than "not bad."

And Octavarium is definitely one of their best songs, if not the best. I mean, with the wonderful melodies at the beginning, and then the incredible build up to the epic climax, it's just absolutely fantastic
I am serious. Octavarium is their worst album along with Falling Into Infinity. It bores the hell out of me every time I try to listen to it.

Systematic Chaos might actually be my least favorite of their albums (maybe, I'm not really positive on that), but then again, I haven't listened to Falling into Infinity. :)
But seriously, how can you argue with tracks like These Walls, Never Enough, Panic Attack, etc. (I really like I Walk Beside You as well, even if it is like hearing U2). I agree with rdyfrde (except on the FII part; I don't have FII). Octavarium is a weak album. "Never Enough" and "Panic Attack" are sucky songs.

The song "Octavarium" is 24 minutes of absolutely nothing happening. Where do you hear those wonderful melodies? I must have missed them. I also could not find any build-up or epicness worth mentioning.

"The Root of All Evil" is the only really good song on Octavarium.
