Design

#1 Post by v3r » 13 Sep 2011 07:31

Hi, folks.
I recognized that the forum's design does not fit to the web page (actually its the default design isn't it?!).
Look at this:

I just have to work on a few things, but if you're interested in --> PM me

No.
This forum has functional design, nothing else matters. Integrating it into the website will compromise that by making it less clear and artificially limiting the width.

They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway.
They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...

Still the goddamn Batman.

Agreed with t.a.j. The forum's design, though simple, suits the needs of the forum perfectly as it is.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
-- Martin Walkyier

I prefer the functionality of the current design

what you did there is kinda crappy. you can't even read everything properly and it looks like a cheap ripoff of the BG webpage without thinking it through.
YEE-HAW MOTHERFUCKER!

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which
I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
it’s a very very...

...Mad world

I don't think it looks too bad, and give credit where it is due for having a go. To be fair though, I am just happy there aren't a bunch of spambots roaming about the place, and the clean look of the forum isn't distracting and would load quicker on my tablet so I am with the naysayers on this one. Good effort though, don't be put off.
My mother in law is a Balrog, and I'm telling you, she has wings!

That looks good, but the only thing I'd want changed is the BG logo to a golden one, like on your design test.
That's about the only thing though.
I can't think of anything clever to put here.
