Nooooooooooo

#1 Post by tomb » 27 Aug 2010 17:39

the site changed :(

I work as a web designer and used to use the Blind Guardian site as an example of site that is a piece of art that also works well as piece of design.

The new site is an incredibly boring generic metal band site. It doesn't stand out from the rest at all. The old site has been one of my favourite sites ever since I saw it first!

I can't believe you changed it, especially into something that looks like every other band site :(

The old site was beautiful, unique and had a real atmosphere about it. Bring it back, please!

Indeed, the old one was much nice, in particular the color scheme, but also the general design was much nicer and neater.

Who cares. It's a website, a tool, a means to an end, and not a painting too look at.

And how long do you suggest we keep the old design? For another 5-6 years perhaps? It was time to move on and make my life easier by moving to use a new technology. Plus the graphics changed to follow the graphics of the new album.

The old design won't come back...ever...so get over it.

I believe there should be an option for the old website, but the new one would be default.

+1 I loved the old one I used to check it all the time! The new one bores me and I hate checking it. Also, I love the drawings. Evviillll!!!!

Dufinitely.

OK, i can accept that reason, but:
perhaps you could think at us older fans who understand less English?
I would favor a language-button like on the shop-page.I imagine that means a lot of work for you, but that would make us happy.

Well your English seems just fine to me. Which languages would you suggest we have the website in? Guess we would need German, Spanish, Russia, Portuguese, French. Do you see where I am going here? Too much work...plain and simple.

I prefer the content of a site more than its design. Design should be on 3rd place after usability.

Thanks for the compliment (while I'm sitting here with my dictionary 8) ), but now a few reasons for a German translation :P .

1.BG is a german band, so I would expect that their side is available in their home language.
2.When I listen to their Interviews, they also seem to have problems with the English language.
3.I know a lot of older German, who hear the music also, but they can´t understand English too.

I know, the site is ready and you won´t change it.
I realize that the forum have to be led in English, so you can communicate with all language. I also see,for same reason the homepage has to be availeble in english, but this doesn´t mean that you can´t use the german language.
I expect nothing, but may you think about it next time you redesign the Homepage.

I demand a translation in the Wappo language. I'm very sad this language went extinct, and we need to do something about it!

I know a lot of bands from the Netherlands who'se website is entirely in English, and I honestly haven't heard anyone who thought it strange or awkward. I understand that you expect a German website, but unless you ppl plan to actually win the next war, it would be more realistic to lower your expectations.

Yeah, because it is obviously so much easier for them to write songs in their non-native language, hence Black Chammm-burrr!
