The Rider Of Rohan wrote:Given the description I would say yes, it does fit in more nicely with books and art, more so than with serious discussions about every day life. In fact, I propose to add the word 'videogames' to the description in the index (instead of games), just to avoid any confusion. There's some other stuff in the coffeeshop too (David Hasselhoff, Borderlands, Hercules which could me moved too).
But the section is not just about video games. Games such as (pen and paper) roleplaying games etc. should also have their place in that section, IMO (the original plan was to have a new section that includes everything the 'Fantasy' section was about, and more). On the other hand, forum games such as the "Count to 666" games and their ilk probably shouldn't have their place there.

The Rider Of Rohan wrote:On the new names, it took me some time to figure out what is what. I prefer a boring and generic description myself, and having names that don't immediately make it clear what's inside of them could make it more difficult for newcomers. It does have a learning-curve that one is able to overcome in a couple of days, so I'll leave this one open for debate.
Then I might just leave 'em like this for a week, and then start a poll. :D

Yeah, it suits you.

Besides, I like The Piper's Calling for the musicians' section, and IftOS would be great for the music. Besides, then we'd have one title from the very begnnings (GotB), one from SfB (TPC), one from IftOS (IftOS), one semi-ANatO (Slaughterhose) and oen from the latest stuff (Otherland).

I'm not sure about the music and other sections being called that. Very confusing. (I like Fiddler On The Green for other)

Also, why Led?

Regarding the moving of topics from especially the Coffee Shop to Otherland, you guys can of course help me by reporting those topics as 'off topic'.

I'll do that.

I made my mind up with the name of the forums, btw: I prefer the old names over what they're now. Reason for this is that there's much less activity in the music-section, whereas the metal-section was always quite active. So if there's a poll, I vote for the boring names (even though I do appreciate the sentiment of having BG-related names).

Perhaps a compromise could be in order? I know for a fact that PHPBB allows for separate banners (or text) above the index of each subforum. The names of the forums could be reverted back to the old names, and once inside, there could be a banner with the name from the BG-song. We'll have best of both worlds, and I am sure there are talented ppl here capable of making gorgeous banners.

What about a Trade-forum now?

I think the idea came up several times already, and after people've repeatedly opening threads offering some stuff (and I'm not talking spambots here :P ), I think it would make sense.
