@ everyone, regarding spam posts

#1 Post by Joost » 06 Feb 2010 12:32

Please don't reply to spam posts, okay? (and with that I mean posts by spambots and the likes, not the countless spam topics in the Slaughterhouse :P) That only makes it more difficult to delete them. What you can do instead, and which is useful, is report spam posts to the admins: doing this will actually make it easier to delete them for us.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.
-- Martin Walkyier

I can only agree - no replies in a topic opened by a spambot makes the deletion literally a click away, and not replying does not make look a post very weird and out of contest in a thread once it's been cleaned up.... imagine how weird it is to have a discussion going "Yeah, I like the song X" "Yes, I like it too" "Mh, now what does this dude is trying to sell us?" when there's nothing else but in-topic messages in the thread...
"There's a time when a man needs to fight and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny's lost, the ship has sailed and that only a fool will continue. The truth is I've always been a fool"

A slight call afar is tempting me, like a whisper sweet or an awful scream; I cannot ignore what I've always been, I'm leaving again - one last time? in my little kingdom I can be what I really wanted to be... The wanderer

YEE-HAW MOTHERFUCKER!

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which
I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
it’s a very very...

...Mad world

I found the love of my life (a Russian mail-order bride) through a spam post. They really work!

I posted a possible method before but it doesn't seem to have been adopted. I used to use it on a forum I once Modded on (quite badly apparently! Some people don't like Mods using the Ban Hammer!) and it stopped a lot of them getting through.
