Are you still alive?

#1 Post by Belgarion » 07 Mar 2013 21:25

Guys, how are you?

It feels like eternity. T.a.j., Joost, Daijin, Gandalf de Grijze. Orodaran, Sleeping Dragon, West Virgina Mool, Sarah, ra me nivar, Noam, corrupted old gnom, End of An Era, Baby Kürsch, Little Dragon, Annie...

Are you still around? What the hell? You are missed.

I am! And the same goes for many of the others, although the forum isn't as active as before -- it's been some time since the last heated debate, I'm afraid. Anyway, welcome (back) to the Slaughterhouse!

How are you doing, these days? (btw, there are plans of a larger forum meeting again this spring or (probably more likely) summer... how about joining?)
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.

Yeah, still kicking. The facebook group should be mentioned: There is a facebook group for you to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/320103081404465/

They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway.
They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...

I'm also doing well since i still have a job that i love, family and above all, whisky. What else would a man need?

I'll be joining you guys at the spring/summer meeting if the timing is right.

Once upon a time there was a forum
where we used to have a chat or two.
Remember how we spammed away the hours
and dreamed of all the meeting we would do?

Those were the days my friend
we thought they'd never end
We'd chat and spam, forever and a day
Discussing politics
Religion and the licks
that our guardians they were known to play

Then the busy years went rushing by us
the meetings getting rare along the way
Soon Heersch flags flew no longer over Wacken
And in the forum spam bots ruled the day

Those were the days my friend
we thought they'd never end
We'd chat and spam, forever ever more
full of camaraderie
dreaming of love to be
remembering shows that we had seen before

Just tonight I logged onto the forum
nothing seemed the way it used to be
days old threads that lay without an answer
and was that word shy watcher really me?

Those were the days my friend
we thought they'd never end
We'd chat and spam, forever and a day
And all the names we knew
of members old and new
where are they now, did they just go away

Then on the board an old, familiar nickname
appeared and asked me “are you still alive”?
And soon my fingers danced upon the keyboard
writing with that old familiar drive.

Those were the days my friend
we thought they'd never end
We'd chat and spam, until the edge of time
debating this and that
and posting drunk or mad
And I myself, from time to time a rhyme.....

This is actually more than moving... I also miss those days. Flaming trolls, fighting the introduction of admins to the forum, the Round Table... playing Anton Maiden as loud as possible in Wacken in order to delight the Heerschers... I miss Anton Maiden btw...

Damn you guys are old :P I went to school back then, now I'm finally graduating university.. it's been a while indeed..

EDIT: 51 posts, are you fucking kidding me???? See that's why I fought the adminds.. I used to be in the top 5 in 2005 :P

We lost the world
Sometimes we hold it but it's slipping away
When we add reality it doesn't taste like our dream
