Hmm, nice idea, I'll try ordering in Dutch next time. Or in Yiddish. Could be interesting.
You're allowed to do that. They're only Germans, after all. :P

what do you mean by phonetic german? yiddish is based off old spoken german from the southern dialects with lots of slavic influences

yep, and basically every German proverb that doesn't make literal sense is actually derived from yiddish.

I usually stand behind them where's it actually possible to drink a beer. Plus, the bands that I see usually don't have them. I don't expect to see the Wall of Epic Death and the Immortal Circle Pit during Rhapsody's show.
that's true - but I'd say it's one of the few things besides the billing with which they could keep certain people away from the open air

Circle pits or walls of death don't bother me much. I'm waaay more annoyed with the crowd surfers, and IMO it's even more dangerous. Last year a guy literally passed out next to me after falling head first on the ground.

Usually it's not a problem but you guys can stay at hotel somewhat near the festival area. I did it last year and everything went smoothly. Sleeping in a comfy and warm bed it's great after a day of beer and head banging.

For me and most of the people I know, most of the experience comes from the camping ground and the people that you camp with, so it might be worth it to take that into consideration.

I understand that and I hear it all the time. Just giving alternatives to them since his sister expressed some concern about the structure.
My first and only time camping at Wacken was not bad, but I spent most of the time on the shows and couldn't sleep much in the tents even when tired as hell. Sum that to 5h time zone difference from my home country and you can easly imply that I couldn't watch some afternoon shows due to laziness or to being sleepy.

Since I must cross the Atlantic to watch bands that rarely play around here, I've decided that I should focus my energies on the performances :)

To be honest, if the sister is too worried about stuff like toilets and showers, she should probably not go to Wacken or any other festival for that matter. Festivals are messy, dirty and a lot of times mud is involved as well. But what I (you know, being a girl and yadda yadda yadda) have found out in over seven years of going to festivals is: It wouldn't be as good without it. Also: A shower after the festival makes you feel human again. In the kind of way that makes you appreciate showers even more. :D

What's the female showers at Wacken like anyways? You you girls get personal cabins, or is it one big showerroom where all the women get naked and do lesbian things together?

The lesbian thing. Believe me, I've been there.
Big breasted, gorgeous, shaved ladies who cannot wait for you (if you're a girl) to take off your panties.

but they are most likely coming back in 2012

I for my part have a ticket
just came here because I read the news on the official page a few seconds ago

but I have to admit that the 70k cruise immediately made Wacken fall back to no2
I don't know yet if this is going to be a question of "substitution" or "supplementation"
but If it turns out that I won't be able to spend two weeks a year on festivals...Wacken probably will drop out of my plans

Quite excited just at the thought of it. It's been a while and i can't wait to see everyone again :)

Hi folks...

no holidays on the first week of august... does anyone well informed already know what date BG is playing exactly?

My last hope is that they're playing on saturday, in that case I'm taking the plane the night before or the day itself and buy the ticket there by re-sellers.
Already sure it's not going to be on thursday 4th, as Ozzy is headlining that night and Motorhead supporting the same day; Judas Priest playing on 5th; unfortunately both Avantasia and Iced Earth scheduled on 6th, this is reducing my hope :(

Otherwise bye bye to WOA and I'm start looking at the Metalcamp in Slovenia.

Thanks in advance.

They don't provide the lineup lists until like a couple months before the show if I remember straight.

And Helloween was just announced today 8)

The last time they played Wacken, they brought out Kai Hansen....

I remember that show, it was great.

A couple of years after that Wacken I asked Kiske if he would consider joining Helloween at Wacken, and he said he would. Now that Kiske will actually be there with Avantasia, I'm getting my underpants all wet just by thinking about it.
Two years ago Kai Hansen made a cameo at Wacken as a special guest of Helloween. Could you ever imagine yourself doing such a thing too?

"If I was asked to join Helloween at Wacken I would do it. I would never consider rejoining the band on a permanent basis. But if the band would ask me to sing one or two songs live I would like the idea - from a nostalgic point of view. A lot of people would certainly like that and as a one-off thing it could be interesting. A lot needs to be done in the meantime, though. The big thing that stands in the way of such a performance is my relationship with Weiki (Michael Weikath, Helloween's bandleader - Ferdi). I have no problems with any of the band members, but Weiki and I simply aren't the best of friends anymore. Still, if he would ask me to sing with Helloween I would certainly consider it, should the past get out of our way."
