Anyone ever see Twilight?

#1 Post by Skyclad » 15 Jun 2009 18:02

I feel like punching myself in the fucking face after watching that. Or throwing myself under a semi or off a bridge. Seriously, how does this shit like this get made, let alone get that big of a budget? Shallow movies for shallow little girls. Almost every scene was ripped off from other movies, other movies who did it better. I think this movie gave me diabetes.

It was a decent movie with some great soundtrack. I don't understand why people approach this film with high expectations. It achieves to entertain and that's all that matters.

I didn't have ANY expectations going into it. I didn't know what it was about except for the fact that it was about vampires and is sort of a fad right now. Even with no expectations, it came off as completely dull and a ripoff of other better movies.

Even the dullest vampire movie can entertain me, so this one was no exception.

I did find it slightly entertaining at times, though my standards are low.

I agree. But my life is filled with Twilight crap. My daughter, 12, is apparently obsessed with the four books and the movie. And stuff. I couldn't believe how bad the movie was. Just...bad.

Almost as bad as agreeing with you about something.

Better get her something cool to read, like Harry Potter! 8) ;)

Watched the film and even read all of the four books. Don't ask me why, I don't know either. It's some of the crappiest stories I ever came across.

Reading the comments in this thread makes me think that my idea of the movie, even without watching it, isn't wrong....

Well, we all have seen in a previous thread how some great movies were called crap by some of the forumers here.

So..

Never trust people's views on the movies on the Internet.

Twilight the movie is badly written, badly acted, badly paced and badly filmed. There is not one redeeming factor to it.

Also, the books send an incredibly shallow and destructive message to the tweener girls who seem to love it, that being it's okay to sell out and sacrifice everything--your family, your own goals and values, yourself--for the person you're infatuated with.

Fuck that.

Yep, what Jackson said. Also, even as a love movie it sucks because there's no substance to that love in Twilight. She fell in love with that dude based on looks alone, and then only fell for him further because he was a curiosity.

So basically, we do not dislike love movies, especially not if they have vampires in them - zombies would be even better, though ;) - but shallow movies.

Personally, I only dislike movies that suck. Heh. If it's a good movie, I don't care what the subject matter is (unless it's gay cowboys which, you know, thanks but no thanks). But if it sucks, I don't care what the subject matter is either. And Twilight sucks, whatever it's about. It’s just a poor product for anyone not blinded by a pre-adolescent crush for the book series. Clear as mud? Good.

Also, at home I pretend to think the Twilight books and movie are "okay" for my daughter's sake. What?

aww, Jacob is the reason why I don't like twilight xD I didn't read the books, but my gf told me about it, and what will happen, and I really hate these kind of people who try to steal the girls from guys. And the vampire guy likes her only because she's hot or something (true love? loool). And the girl? well, she's ok, I'd do her, if I were in a desert xD nah, j/k
he loves her 'cause she's hot or something yeah, xD ans she loves him 'cause he's a vampire... his smell, his beauty, all makes her the feeling of have to be near him... He's a hunter after all haha

Jacob is very cute, he just fight for the person that he loves >.<

Anyway, it looked like a movie for 11 years old girls. And HIM fans. Or is it the same thing?

They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...
