Excellent show in Houston last night!!!

It took some waiting, but I Got sigs from all the guys. And a pic with Hansi, Andre, Frederick, and Marcus.

Hansi really went for A LOT of the shrieks on the "Imaginations" tracks. And he nailed them. I can't believe how great his vocals are 20 years later. He still sounds just like the album.

And CURSE OF FEANOR. - So good. So good.

(Andre Didn't sign the setlist, but they all signed everything else)
Image

That's the setlist, The "Beyond the Red Mirror" Earbook-Deluxe and The Numbered print from the "A Traveler's Guide to Space and Time" Boxset. (This will be Framed)

I've never met them, and only seen them once before. The guys are all very nice and approachable. Well, Andre was a little daunting - I didn't want to overstay my welcome, lol.

I mentioned the orchestral project in jest to Hansi. He said "Give us another one and half years at least on that". I told him how curious I was, as to what it sounded like. He said "It's a bit different, but if you like Tolkiens works, I think you will like it very much". Consider me even more intrigued.
I had always hoped that the orchestral project was a full on Lord of the Rings epic. Similar to Howard Shore's Score for the Peter Jackson films. *Fingers Crossed*

The only bummer was the shirt selection. They had a badass "Imaginations" cover, with dates on the back. But only in small, and in women's. I noticed they were selling signed Digipacks of "Beyond the Red Mirror" That's pretty cool

All in all, a great night!

It's quite simple actually :) Good write up man, you got the gold experience!! That set is fucking wicked, they should have done Curse at every show on this tour! They didn't have those other signed things for sale at the show I was at. They made that set awesome since a lot of people had attended the year before and needed to be rewarded for that.

lol, Well I brought those things in the photo for them to sign, and just got lucky getting the setlist. As far as I know it was just the New CD that you could buy already signed.

I agree "Curse of Feanor" should become a staple at shows!

I got here early and watched them rehearse, they played The Holy Grail and the keyboardist told me that will definitely be played tonight :D

Got an autograph and picture with the keyboardist, and an Imaginations shirt :D

Dallas setlist (09/27/2016):

The Ninth Wave
Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill)
Nightfall
The Holy Grail
Imaginations from the Other Side
I'm Alive
A Past and Future Secret
The Script for My Requiem
Mordred's Song
Born in a Mourning Hall
Bright Eyes
Another Holy War
And the Story Ends

Into the Storm
Majesty
The Bard's Song - In the Forest
Mirror Mirror

I got a setlist (signed by Hansi) and a guitar pick from Marcus. I met the whole band and they all signed my copy of Beyond the Red Mirror. :D I got an Imaginations shirt and photos with Hansi, Marcus, and Michael (the keyboardist). Flawless night. :D

So happy that they played The Holy Grail and I FINALLY got to hear Majesty live. My favorites were The Holy Grail, Bright Eyes, Mordred's Song, Another Holy War, And the Story Ends, and Majesty.

Awesome dude. How was the turnout in your area? It was OK in Houston, but not a packed house, to be honest.

Oh and the Rehearsal, nice!

I think it's Michael "Mi" Schüren? Same guy from the Imaginations Through the Looking Glass DVD?

This guy

You probably know more than me about BG so I could be wrong.

I've had high hopes for The Holy Grail and Majesty since last year. Those were 2 of the highest on my list, so I'm glad to get both of them. I still would have loved Time What is Time and/or Curse of Feanor though.

Well, BG played at a smaller venue this year compared to last year. Last year they played at Gas Monkey Live which is a regular size venue and that place was pretty packed. This year they played at Gas Monkey Bar N' Grill which is an outdoor extension of the restaurant and holds less people. And there just didn't look like as many people compared to last year. So overall I think the turnout was less. But it was still OK since it that's where Epica played earlier this year and the turnout looked just as big as theirs.

I think Houston got the best setlists between this year and last year. You guys got 1 or 2 more songs. ;) Since we got And The Story Ends twice. Still Dallas had pretty good setlists for both years.

Another thing different about this year than last year was that the show was open air.

Yeah Drahcir, that is his name. I was actually thinking of Mathias Wiesner who did the keys on ANATO and stuff. Brain mix up  I asked him a bunch of questions back in 2010 in Montreal, really cool guy and it was neat that they did And Then There Was Silence that night so he got more spotlight.

Colorado got Time What Is Time 4th and Sacred Worlds and The Last Candle at the end, no Valhalla. Last night in Salt Lake City they got Fly 4th, and Time Stands Still in encore, really glad I didn't get that set! 8) Wonder what they will do at the first ever Vegas show, can't believe they have not played there before!

Last night in Vegas we got

The Ninth Wave
Welcome To Dying
Nightfall
Fly
IFTOS
Sacred Worlds
Valhalla
The Bard's Song - In the Forest
Mirror Mirror

And we rocked it!

Was good to finally see them on my home turf. Hansi joked that they are a young band and the future is ahead, so they'll surely come back many times. My husband really liked Grave Digger. They were very good live.

Same design from the original IFTOS tour, I'd love to have one.
I really hope they'd bring this tour to Europe!

They had different '16 Tour shirts at the London show. It's dark blue and dark and sais "A Feast For The Crowd" on the back. They've had a good variety of random shirts for each city on this tour, but no long sleeves.

I could post plenty of pictures of merch and the band, if only I could figure it out. Anyways in San Diego they did Fly fourth and Majesty in encore.

I hope this is the start of BG weening Fly off the setlist. It has its charm but much better songs can be played in its place.

They had the feast for the crowd shirt in Vegas, too, along with a hoodie and a girlie with the IFTOS cover. Plus the shirt and hoodie from last year. I really liked the logo pins. Got a couple for the kiddies. At ProgPower they had a " Shadows Will Be Rising" shirt, too, but didn't see it on Saturday.

I have to agree here, Fly is a good song, but I heard it every single time I've seen them (11 times now).
I'd like to hear Otherland for a change, I love that song

May I suggest to just join the bigger group that was linked in facebook forum group itself (https://www.facebook.com/groups/340012006167243/)?
It makes no sense to split fans in lots of different groups and that one is getting pretty big and is quite active ;)

Otherland is exactly the other song I have in mind to replace Fly on the setlist. I love that song too.

Replace Fly? *faint* No!
I want them to perform it in Rijssen

"A Twist In The Myth" has different great songs to be played live.... "this will never end" is another tune to performe absolutely... "another stranger me" of course and why not "straight through the mirror"....
So Blind Guardian with their oustanding discography can play whatever....they can build, in any case, a great setlist for an amazing show...
During this North American Tour for example "the holy grail" could be played more....just like "prophecies"..... either I don't understand why they didn't play "twilight of the gods"....maybe because of the deserved space for the whole "imaginations from the other side" album...

They pulled out Barbara Ann and Curse of Feanor at San Francisco show. Japan got Imaginations and Mirror Mirror. And then there was silence.

They played Skalds & Shadows when I saw them in 2006 too. It's rarely played live but one of my very favorite BG songs. Easily in my top 10. I wish they had played This Will Never End or Otherland, but we got Another Stranger Me instead. Probably won't hear that one again.
