UK Tour 2016

#1 Post by sciacallo010 » 13 Jan 2016 23:57

So they finally announced the UK tour yesterday! :D

May 17 QMU Glasgow, United Kingdom
May 18 The Ritz Manchester, United Kingdom
May 19 Academy Dublin, Ireland
May 21 Rock City Nottingham, United Kingdom
May 22 The Forum London, United Kingdom

Also the promoter on the Facebook event of the Manchester gig wrote it's gonna be a special 3 hours set!
If that's gonna be true, this will be like the most incredible Blind Guardian gig ever...can't wait for it!

Yup! VERY exciting. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10AM. I'll be having some for the London show again - last year's was awesome!

I'm tempted to follow them around a bit; doing the whole UK tour might be a bit too much, but maybe I can manage to do Manchester/Nottingham/London

Please can you share the link? All I have managed to find is that it is "Blind Guardian + Guests" which would probably mean that they will perform the standard show + 1 or 2 performances by other bands.

If you scroll down to the girls who wrote "freedom call or powerwolf for support please XD" in the comments the promoter wrote about the 3h show

Wow... That would be even longer than the Coburg performance!

It might actually mean that there is only 3 hours, so just enough time for a normal 2h BG set and a half hour/40min support set...

If he had written "They'll play for 3 hours" it would be legitimate to ask "They who? With "they" he means all the bands?", but the promoter wrote "Blind Guardian are doing a 3hr set!" which is pretty unequivocal to me.

yeah, but also a bit dubious as they never play that long, plus the band didn't announce such a special treat either.

I wish there was a way to get the confirmation from the band or its management. All this social media an you can't ask a question like this :(
At least when Marcus was doing guitar lessons it was possible to ask him stuff on their forums...

SHIIIT...just announced Blind Guardian doing the Heavy MTL festival in August. Oh this is something to think about. I did miss the sold out show they did in Montreal back in October but I caught the Toronto show, would it be worth it to go and see them do like 8 or 9 songs, I really don't know. :x

Looking at the setlists on setlist.fm it seems they played a normal 2-hourish set... (not even any special treats in the choice of songs that I have seen)

London did get the most interesting setlist of this current stint of tours anyway.

The Ninth Wave
Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill)
Nightfall
Fly
Tanelorn (Into the Void)
Prophecies
The Last Candle
Lord of the Rings
Time What Is Time
Majesty
The Script for My Requiem
Imaginations from the Other Side
War Of Wrath
Into the Storm
The Curse of Fëanor
Valhalla
Sacred Worlds
The Bard's Song - In the Forest
Mirror Mirror

TOTG has only been on two setlists of the recent tour. Holy Grail may truly be on its way

Great! But the first performance from the past year(I can't remember where it was) is way better... It seems that Hansi is protecting his voice so much more here.
