Thank you, too. :)
I'm asking because I fear I won't make it to the latest bus leaving from Saint Petersburg. Still, the more Blind Guardian we get, the better, I suppose. :D I wish the show started earlier though.

Nice setlist from Turkey with four epic songs... and a heavy version of "Lord Of The Rings"? I prefer the orchestral one.

And our mystery gift in Romania was..

.. Skalds and Shadows!...

..woo?

Again, not a terribly huge risk to take, and not an immense surprise. Another Stranger Me would have definitely been a shock, though a bit bland.

They really need to give The New Order or STTM a shot..

Well, they played Another Stranger Me almost every night at the ATITM tour, Skalds was rarer. Saw videos of the Romanian performance, and Hansi definitely sang it better than in the ATITM tour, where the lines "See me in the shadows" where often an octave lower - which killed a bit the whole thing, in my opinion...

He REALLY is in an amazing shape, considering he's singing better NOW than 9 years ago! Could it be this is only because of the lighter tour schedule?

Anyway, maybe we'll be getting more songs and different setlists in the North American tour...?

Been to the Vienna show yesterday and now I'm pretty sure - I've never seen Hansi in better shape. He nailed all the screams, he pulled many of the harsh vocals (remember a couple of years ago he frequently did the "How can I run, how can I hide"-part in Into the storm an octave lower? not anymore), the band chemistry seemed great - an awesome show.

But I slowly get a little disappointed with the setlists - yeah, sure, they're playing stuff from every era and I'm biased towards A Night at the Opera, but it really feels kinda "playing it safe". Replacing middle-era-staple songs with early-era-staple-songs doesn't really kick me. Just a little surprise per show, one song out of 2:10 hours - is that too much to ask? :(

No Wheel Of Time in Warsaw but again The Ninth Wave, ATTWS, Sacred Worlds and Blood Tears :!:
Would you believe that the band intended not to play Valhalla at this show, could be the first such case in a long time. But crazy polish fans demanded and got it. I'm sick of this song.

Good news for everyone who likes "The Throne" (that is, about 98% of this forum's population). In a recent Russian interview (available here: http://www.km.ru/muzyka/2015/06/02/pers ... predpochit) Hansi shed some light on the identity of the last, fifth song from "Beyond The Red Mirror" to be played; here's an excerpt on the issue.

KM.RU: Which songs from the new album are you going to play on this tour, if it's not a secret?
Hansi: No, absolutely no secrets as the setlist is pretty much established already. Off of the new CD we'll be playing, of course, «The Ninth Wave», the song released as a single, «Twilight of the Gods», acoustic ballad «Miracle Machine» and «Prophecies»… We haven't made the final decision yet but we may be performing «The Throne» from time to time.

Hm.. The Throne would seem to be overall less vocally demanding than Sacred Mind, Grand Parade, and Holy Grail I guess. There are more opportunities for Hansi to blend in lower pitches of singing as allowed by the layering of the studio version. If Andre, Marcus, Mi, and Barend can belt out the chorus/select additional moments requiring choir about as well as they can with Prophecies, it could succeed, but it was far from my first choice. Regardless I want to see them pull it off. It's a song on par with their other epics, but lacking some pivotal breakdowns and transitions such as ATTWS has.

Haven't been to this forum in quite some time! Guardian is coming back to Montreal in October so I'll be around a lot more. The setlist is pretty damn awesome this year. I have yet to hear Banish From Sanctuary, The Last Candle or Bright Eyes live so I think either way I will be pleasantly surprised. If they do Lost In The Twilight Hall I will cum in my pants.

Sorry to double post here, but I am looking forward to the tour resuming at the beginning of October to see what the set is like. What would you guys change if you could and what do you want to stay in the set? I hope to hell they keep Banish From Sanctuary as the second song, they should do Blood Tears more too! Also need to see Bright Eyes, Lost In The Twilight Hall, The Last Candle or Guardian Of The Blind which I am sure will not happen.

I would prefer as Set list:

1. The Ninth Wave
2. Banish from Sanctuary
3. Lost in a Twilight Hall
4. A Past and Future Secret
5. Prophecies
6. Tanelorn (Into the Void)
7. Miracle Machine
8. Blood Tears
9. Twilight of the Gods
10. Journey through the Dark
11. The Maiden and the Minstrel Knight
12. Mirror Mirror

Encore:
13. Wheel of Time (altenative Mix)
14. Trial by the Archron
15. Time what is Time

Encore 2:
16. Follow the Blind
17. Lord of the Rings
18. The Last Candle

Encore 3:
19. Majesty

Outro:
20. At the Edge of Time
Follow the blind
Your journey, your last hope, it can begin
These passing dreams were real no fantasy
There are more things than we know
Come take my hand

That would be an insane set for sure! I don't know about Maiden being in there, have they ever done that live? With the second encore it would be one long ass show, but without And Then There Was Silence I guess it would still be pretty standard. Great set, I would shit.

Was the exact same set as the last one in Japan back in June. Kind of surprised it was the exact same but I checked it out on setlistfm. Let's wait and see what happens tomorrow night. I'm glad they are doing Banish From Sanctuary still, The Last Candle and Journey Through The Dark. Would rather hear Sacred Worlds than Wheel Of Time though. What do you guys think?

Majesty
I'm Alive
And Then There Was Silence

It is not seldom that they play three overlength songs (if you count the ninth wave), at Minsk they did even four (if setlist.fm is edited correctly): Wheel of time, ATTWS, sacred Worlds and ninth wave

Time Stands Still at last two shows. Glad to see Imaginations was done tonight! Guess it appears no more Miracle Machine which I think sucks!! They gotta stick that 3 min tune back in there, at least for this tour. Wheel Of Time was done at last two shows, but no Sacred Worlds. Set is always so much better with Into The Storm, hope they keep playing that.

A fourth BTRM song at all would be great. I'm honestly worried that they're just going to keep playing less and less from it, which would make no sense.

I recall an interview wherein Hansi stated they intended to begin playing "The Throne" during the second half of the tour, so much for that. (Thus far)

If some of these setlists can be trusted, they're also still recording for the live album apparently. That was supposed be done in June. Who knows what's going on.

Oh yes, forgot to mention that one. Yeah, I don't know, if there was a fourth song added, which is still likely since Miracle Machine has just disappeared, I would like to hear The Holy Grail. There's a good chance, they may swap the Sacred slot for Grand Parade, which I am surprised they aren't doing. I like hearing the old stuff more anyway..what do you guys think, Lost In The Twilight Hall or Last Candle, and I'm Alive or Script? Interested to see what the fellow bard's prefer to see. The set also needs something else from Somewhere Far Beyond like Journey Through The Dark, seemed to fit in quite well, gives us something besides just The Bard's Song.

Absolutely, I would love to see more of SFB represented live. At least Journey Through the Dark would be amazing. And it's interesting to see that The Last Candle has been played on all the Brazil dates. As far as I'm Alive or Script? I'm Alive is a great thrasher so I might go with that. Script for My Requiem gets played often enough, although it is very fun to sing along to and it's what I'd call a quintessential Blind Guardian song.

Have to say I could do without the longer songs like Wheel of Time or And Then There Was Silence in favor of some older songs. Hope the NA tour gets some of the surprises Europe had like Blood Tears or Guardian of the Blind!

Yes!! I wish Blood Tears would be played more, and Guardian Of The Blind. I think if they did anything else from Battalions then people would not insist on them playing Majesty, the shows that got both were so lucky. Almost spoiled

So last night they got my dream set for this tour! A Past And Future Secret and Bright Eyes were done, as were both The Last Candle and Lost In The Twilight Hall and also And The Story Ends. With Banish, so many of my favorite songs I have not seen live were present here. Sacred Worlds was done, and Into The Storm, totally want to see that set at the end of the month, would be able to die happy. 8)
