I was surprised they brought back ATTWS so late in the US tour, on just the last few tour dates. I would expect the opposite in other bands - for the setlist to shorten and more complex songs to be dropped. Unbelievable. I was truly impressed and blown away by Blind Guardian once again.

In Orlando they played Wheel of Time instead of Imaginations and Barbara Ann instead of Majesty. Someone posted it on facebook and will probably be on setlistfm soon.
I'm actually not that surprised about that. I was at their last show last tour and we got ATTWS, Sacred Worlds, and Wheel of Time. And Barbara Ann, for the first time in the US.

And wait wait wait. Are you telling me Orlando got The Ninth Wave, Sacred Worlds, ATTWS, Wheel of Time, AND Curse of Feanor??? Tell me how many children I have to sacrifice to see them play that set!

Yes, they got all of those songs.

"Curse of Feanor" - Holy shit!

I hope they were satisfied with themselves so we can hear it on the new live album. I know how scrupulous they are - I'm sure it was awesome!

Maybe we'll all hear Curse of Feanor if they do a NIME anniversary tour. ;)

I'm hoping we hear it often now. The cat's been let out of the bag. They can't stuff it back in now that everyone knows it's there. :P

Yes, exactly! Maybe it will become a regular or at least semi-regular. Like I said before, not one of my personal top favorites, but I'd still like to hear it. Hopefully most of us American fans don't have to wait another 4-5 years for it! But probably.

Here's a slighty longer clip of Curse of Feanor starting at 2:30. Hansi sounds incredible!

I wanted that one live so badly. Why do you hate the US Blind Guardian?   :P
Really, though, Europe always gets more uncommon songs. US didn't get Blood Tears, Guardian of the Blind, or Miracle Machine, and now Holy Grail, and only the last two shows got Curse. I blame our metalheads for being to traditionalist. :?

They played I'm Alive at a couple US shows as well. I would have loved to see that one and Blood Tears. Traveler in Time and A Past and Future Secret are the main ones from my top favorites that I have yet to see.

The song At the of Edge of Time would be incredible live.

Finally!
Damn, no wonder he left it till the end of the American tour so he can now recover his vocal cords from it. Still, I hope they will be playing it more.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome! They should definitely keep perfecting it by playing it more, I'd love to hear something besides the same four songs from NIME all the time. Certainly seemed tight enough to be done more but Hansi doesn't seem to like singing it that much. :P

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening or good night,

Be it late, be it early or somewhere in between, I suppose, that matches all of your actual statuses, no matter where you are. As a constant time traveler it is not a big deal for me to cope with all of these paradoxes at once. Where was I? Oh, I have not even started, yet…

I’ve got something to say. Here it comes. Now. In just a second.

Though the festival season is keeping us busy for a little while longer (and we’re enjoying every single moment of it) our restless thoughts are moving further, already, traveling to places beyond your imagination (*spoiler warning*). Physically, captured in the Here and Now (no direct reference to Beyond the Red Mirror intended here), our minds are already heading westward and into the future.

I, being asked at least a thousand times by journalists and fans if we were not, in general, interested in a conceptual album performance, have been surprised by my band mates, who came up with the exact same idea during last week’s journey to Denmark and Poland. I cannot exactly remember where or when. Needless to say, the idea appealed mind-blowing and completely new to them… Guess what? André and Marcus suggested to make this September‘s Northern American Tour an “Imaginations From the Other Side” conceptual tour!!! No surprise, Frederik was immediately up for that!

Guess what (II), this idea, coming out of the mouths of my long term companions, somehow started to sound appealing to me as well. It might be the two beers I drank that evening, but I, for whatever reason, spontaneously agreed on doing so, and now they are bound and determined to hold me to my word. No way out. I am already using too many words to deliver a fairly simple message…

Here it comes in plain words…

WE WILL PLAY THE WHOLE IMAGINATIONS FROM THE OTHER SIDE ALBUM WHEN WE COME BACK TO NORTH AMERICA IN SEPTEMBER!

Instead of revealing more secrets, I better go back to my rehearsal room and practice these songs. This will be a busy summer for us and certainly an enjoyable upcoming experience for our North American friends.

Hansi

Hell yes, glad I am going to see this :D If they were to play any album in its entirety I expected it to be NiME, but I am happy that it will be IFTOS since I like it much more. It will still leave room for 6-8 more songs.

Great news (even tho I've listened to almost all of IFTOS in different gigs and would rather hear a full performance of NIME  )

There's no way they could ever do all of NIME night after night for a tour. It would be way too demanding for Hansi.

I could see a one-time show happening, though. Maybe.

Of course, I'd love this to happen, maybe, at a BG Open Air

They surely did, when I interviewed Marcus he told me that he prefers a show to be unpredictable

I've actually been close to a show in which they played the entire album back in 2003...
one of the warm-up shows towards the BGOA they played all except for APAFS...

Been waiting forever to hear Bright Eyes, I'm Alive, Mordred's Song, A Past And Future Secret and Another Holy War live, guessing there will be other special deep cuts played as well. Can't wait for September 19th now, this band just made me so happy.

Got my tickets ordered for London show! Chose NOT to go to the Montreal festival show since they only had about 45 minutes and ALL the other bands really sucked. Saw the set and I made the right decision as usual, London show will be worth every penny. 8)
