Indeed. I myself try not to anticipate the new album too much, for fear of getting disappointed.

mh, just thought about it, when they are finishing choirs nowadys there is still a lot of mixing.
Especially with orchestra elements it can take quite long.
Hasn't the ATEOT mixing taken over half a year? oh oh sorry for spreading my pessimistic thoughts....

Expect the worst and being suprised by just the bad ;)

So, it looks like that this album is in "making" almost 3 years for now!!! The first time they mentioned that it was already started was on January 2012 in Guardian TV ! It seems that this will be the longest process for their regular album !!! Hope it will be really complex and truly epic with a lot of choirs and orchestrations !!!

Does anyone get the feeling that the album is not even close to being ready yet?

Looks like a forthcoming tour poster. The question is, may this picture have something to do with the new album artwork? If so, then it will get quite a bit darker and more brutal, if you will...

Agreed, it's still digital but at least it looks very different from Felipe Machado's work. Which is a welcome change, because that guy does everything, basically. This looks kind of cool, actually.
I can't think of anything clever to put here.

I hope that this will have nothing to do with the new artwork, but the fact that Machado will no longer do it (I quite like his works, but they are all too similar each other, and "handmade" artworks are way better than digital ones), as I like the theme but not the production.

Ow, that's some really good news, thanks for that. Maybe it means that's when they will provide it to the record company and they can decide on the final release date?

"Turning it in" (he calls it "abgeben") propably refers to sending the finished record to the label. They will then do the promotion, design related issues, pressing the cds etc.
I think promotion takes the most time. And I guess that the release will be maybe one or two months before the tour kicks off, wouldn't make sense to release it earlier. But hopefully I'm wrong.

Apart from that there is nothing really new, no title has been chosen yet, they will try to bring in new elements but maintain their original sound. The rest is more general stuff about getting old, twilight (the movies/books), the travelers guide to space and time, musical progress...

German power metallers HELLOWEEN will enter MiSueno Studio on the isle of Tenerife in October with producer Charlie Bauerfeind (GOTTHARD, HAMMERFALL) to begin recording a new album for a May 2015 release via Nuclear Blast.
Read more at http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/hellow ... EkgJvOU.99
So this means Charlie and BG have to complete mixing till October, or they have to make a stop in between. I hope for first option ;)

I wish they take the third option and choose another producer. For me Bauerfeind has destroyed the sound of BG.He may has done good job with Helloween but I really feel nostalgic for the old BG sound.

Bauerfeind almost did a brilliant job with the MoaTtC discs, and the TGtSaT, but they're too inorganic sounding.

And ATEOT too.., it's probably the most organic thing I have ever heard, it's awesome! For me it has the quality if MOATC and ATGTSAT ! Btw, somehow, I really like Charlies work ! His work with BG is something I've never heard before as a production! It's really stylish and pompose, which I really like ! His production with BG in the last 3-4 years reminds me a more to a musical on a scene, which is really strange, but unique at the same time :)

Listening to the MOATTC re-recording of Valhalla, this guy is actually damn good at mixing. The tone is so heavy but clear. I just feel like he tries to overproduce sometimes, and that's not cool. ATITM, while it has a super cool sound and tone, is super flat most of the time. But his most recent efforts are much, much better. Even anti-Bauerfeind's have to admit.

i miss sometimes the clearness and heaviness of the drums, but that's maybe a symptom of Thomen's loss. I guess he was the one looking for it ;)
On the other side their last album wasn't bad mixed and Charlie does great jobs at Lingua Mortis and Helloween, so it seems BG likes the mixing this way....

So, taking an example Stratovarius' Nemesis record, I was told that the "Songs were locked" on August 1st, masters delivered November 1st, and the album was released in late February. However some of the delay was that the band's label didn't want to compete with the Christmas market. Promos were sent out very early January. Really once the master of an album is delivered, all there is to do is hype it up and print the physical copies. First thing that'll happen is a select amount of print magazines will receive the physical promo, usually just a CDR with some digital watermarking. I don't actually know how long this process takes, because I'm pretty sure everyone got Nemesis at the same time. However, I know MOST releases do print first, and they try to give the print mags at least a full month head-start before sending out the digital promos, which will, for most record labels get around 3-4 weeks. The idea is to get as many reviews written as possible without the album leaking, and so in theory, they could turn an album from master to shelf in 3 months or less.

However, Nuclear Blast also has a notoriously strained relationship with online critics, and makes it incredibly difficult to get into their promotional pool, even for established sites. Even when sites are in, the hoops they have to jump through are often times a big deterrent. As such, I have no idea what their specific timetables look like. All that being said, if the masters are delivered early September, I would anticipate a January 2015 release.

I really hate that people mock Hansi so much for his appearance. Especially on Facebook, where him or his family could see. I can't imagine it feels very nice to try make an update on a piece of work you're passionate about, that you expected others to be excited about, and all you get is people making fun of how you look. Fucking awful.

Fucking awful.
His appearance in this regard really isn't worth drawing attention to. He's the greatest singer in metal, one of the most interesting songwriters in general, a family man, and almost 50. Just looks like he enjoys his ale, or the "Danish cake".

Just kidding and I think that when they post a picture of cakes next to the sentence "Studio rule #1: no work until cake has been eaten." they know that and thay too are laughting of themselves.
