Bard's Song remade

#1 Post by Traveller in Time » 13 Aug 2011 13:35

Here you find a video (after the f***ing commercial) of the new made The Bard's Song - In The Forest.
BG supported a charity auction of their old label Virgin to help the victims of the natural disaster in Japan. The auction was about a day at BG's Twillight Hall studio and rerecording The Bard's Song - In The Forest unter your cammand.
Some canadian guys did win this auction. And here is the result. The soon will be available in some days on the offcial BG page.

Metal Hammer report[german] + Video

Well if i had won this i would have BG played it really heavy ;) Totally different, and how would have been your version?
Sorry about my bad english, but the good one is on vacation!

That would've been awesome.
I wish they would have made it a little less conventional xD
I can't think of anything clever to put here.

yeah.. this is just teh bard's song with a bass and some extra vocals. But hey, it was their vision, if we wanted it we should have made our own bids and won the auction ;)

This guy's voice is annoying :\
How can we take it away from someone who has no right--no right to control the divine!!

He's pretty talented though, but he sounds like 90% of power metal vocalists. They've all got this operatic and nasal tinge to their high notes.

Agreed, good control but an uninspiring and bland sound.

Indeed, i really like to listen to new Power Metal bands, but most of their singers sing like this one. I wish there would be more Hansi like singers, which can sign high and have a strong lower voice with rough scrams :)

I think this video was amazing. The singer working along Hansi was pretty darn good in my opinion, and I cannot wait for an MP3 available of this version. Perfect 10! I don't read German, so could someone summary was the article was about? Who were the guest singers, etc.?

Well, there are many things I would have done different, but they are the winners and it actually sounds nice. Nevertheless Hansi sometimes seems to be a little bored, haha  ("I'm singin this song for the 1000.000.000 time, yeah!")

Haha! I think the whole band wanted something different :p Marcus at one point in the video mimicked playing the song really heavy :p I wish they would try that, just for fun :)

Yea, crazy. They pay lots of money for their own version of this song and they just add a bassline and their own vocals ?! You're right, propably the whole band thought of a new, experimental version - but then ... :D

Yeah and Frederik had nothing to do (ok he was singing in the chorus).... at least i would let him add some flute (we know he can play many instruments) or something ;)

On the other side, who really wants to take serious hands on The Bard's Song and change it distinctive?
