I think i'm getting old...
Dreamland turned to realland and we faced a new frontier
We lost the world
Sometimes we hold it but it's slipping away
When we add reality it doesn't taste like our dream

Well, rumour has it that the orchestral project will be released in 2013, but I wouldn't bet on it ^^ They've postponed the date faaaar too many times ... and there's also been some talk about a best-of-album :? not something I'd support, considering it would only push back the release date of a new album even further.
Would do another one like this :-))
I'd most certainly join you ^^

It's Blind Guardian we're talking about here *sighs*
Besides... wouldn't you think something was off about a BG album if it was released earlier? :P

Ur right, Best-of albums are, sry for writing that, shit. Why would you buy another CD with the songs on it you have anyway just because there is something like a bonus track in it? My money is to precious for that, actually...

Well, it wouldn't be that kind of best-of album. More like FT... Hansi said they'd probably record some more acoustic versions, but didn't want to put any already existing versions on the album...

In Düsseldorf they recorded the bard's song, so I think they will. Maybe it will be a bonustrack only or something, but ... hm

I read something about those recordings being meant for the homepage, but that was ages ago, so ...

We might just as well never hear those recordings

Actually I am counting on it. Not releasing a live cd or dvd would seem like a wasted opportunity, especially in this day and age where cd-sales shrink faster than a schlong in the snow. 8)

seriously, who cares for live-albums that much? And anyway, the last one was only two albums ago...

I always thought that not putting out best ofs or lie-album any odd that was one of BG's strong points.

I seriously hope they won't release another live album and/or DVD for at least 2 more studio albums, after that they have 4 cd's to add to the live repetoire, thus creating a much more different setlist than the last live album. The current live setlists are still too similar to the LIVE album.

So in about 9 years then, by Blind Guardian standards. :P

But I don't know, if they change up the setlist at lot for upcoming shows they could make a pretty decent Live album with "new" songs performed live, as in, songs that have never appeared on a live album/and or DVD/and or B-side. Quick mock up could be something like this:
Sacred Worlds
A Voice in the Dark
Ashes to Ashes
Tanelorn
Turn the Page
Thorn
Otherland
Battlefield (as if, probably too crazy to perform live)
Ride into Obsession
Blood Tears
Noldor
The Curse of Feänor
A Dark Passage
The Hobbit
Wheel of Time
This doesn't even have to be the setlist for one particular show, they can just copy and paste like they did with Live. This is about 1 hour and 30 minutes, but you could add more songs from A Twist in The Myth and from the first two albums. I'd buy it *shrugs*.

Blood Tears
Noldor
The Curse of Feänor
A Dark Passage
when did they play one of these songs live ? I'd love to hear only one of them!

Well, they said, they think there is only sense in publishing live albums, when there is another "musical-chapter" , compared to the last one. Hm, who knows. I realy love the live-stuff from BG. At example the live version of "the Soulforged" is one of my favourite songs.

(Hope my translation is halfway correct, haha)

I didn't post songs that actually have been played live, but songs I'd love to hear on a live album (that which has yet to appear on one).

However, Blood Tears have been played:

I think there is some better recordings of the song too.

Another DVD would be nice. they said they would like to record one once the orchestral project was finished. Which might take another 2 decades, but makes sense :) Just imagine a DVD of a live performance of the orchestral project at a 2nd BG Open Air....
(Hey, one is allowed to dream!)

I don't really care about live albums. Blind Guardian are great live, but you really have to be there, otherwise I prefer the studio albums.

That's 3 hours drive for me^^ Well, BG bring people together dont they? Will be living in Jena next year...

And, referring to live DVDs... Live feeling just cannot be recorded. BG are so good live.
