I love Wheel of Time

#1 Post by arenamaster » 22 May 2011 08:38

I love the series and when I heard this song, I couldn't believe it. This is literally the best song Blind has ever made, imo!
Each step I take,
May it hurt may it ache
Leads me further
Away from the past!
But as long as I breathe,
Each smile in my bleak face,
I'm on my way to find
Back to the peace of mind!

I liked the song a lot, then I finished The Eye Of The World... Now I love it!
I can't think of anything clever to put here.

I saw both songs played played live. I have to say ATTWS was more of a crowd pleaser.

I love Wheel of time also. It just might be my favorite track on ATEOT!

Yeah, it's pretty incredible! I had just finished the latest book, Towers of Midnight, right before getting the new album, so I went extra-crazy with happiness over that particular song, heh. The books are amazing, and I can't believe how great a job Blind Guardian has done in turning thousands of pages of writing into one song. I literally squeal with joy or collapse with a pleased sigh with the lines "May it be as the Pattern has chosen!" and "And if I fail will it all be over?". Just two short bits, but by golly that's some powerful stuff. Gah! It's so tough to try and describe the badassery of this song while not giving away any spoilers for those who haven't read the books! (And they absolutely should be read!)

This tune is so reminiscent of Led Zeppelin in my opinion. It's like Achilles Last Stand meets Kashmir. Epic adventure with an eastern flair! And all of these are now songs that I have to gear myself up to listen to. There is no such thing as a casual listen where these tunes are concerned.

I'd love to have these guys write an entire album about Wheel of Time, because you know they could, and you know it would be freaking monumental like everything else they've ever done. I know they'd pick the best bits out of those hundreds of thousands of pages, and probably make me cry with happiness seventeen times listening to it.

I don't care what they decide to do next as long as it includes me getting to see them again. I am gnashing my teeth looking at all these tour dates in far-flung locales! Hey, I know the Tennessee/North Carolina area isn't the most... cultured or exciting place to be, but that's all the more reason why we need some more Blind Guardian!
"Raise this banner high. Don't take it down again until the Last Battle has been won. I march beneath the sign of the wolf!"

I began reading Wheel of Time a few months before ATEOT, but I was reading at a slow pace and now I'm on the 4th book, and I absolutely am in love with the song, with the little lyrical sections and everything.

Twice I'll be marked and
Twice I shall live
The heron sets my path
And name me true
Twice I'll be marked and
Twice I shall die
My memory's gone
But twice I pay the price

I creep along
So desperate and tired
Let me ask you
Why?
I am what I am
Prophecies I am the chosen
Ta'veren
The flame will grow
Feel the heat
I'll keep on breathing
After all there's no tomorrow

The vision
So fleeting and vague
Once again I will bring down the mountain
One last glimpse
It is costantly slipping away

just perfect.
Each step I take,
May it hurt may it ache
Leads me further
Away from the past!
But as long as I breathe,
Each smile in my bleak face,
I'm on my way to find
Back to the peace of mind!
