I like their previous idea: do a festival for the DVD, and then do a live album using recordings from the tour.

I'll agree with the plan of releasing a Live album after the end of the tour and a DVD after the orchestral project is done with the festival in it.
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
Forever to be free

I think they should do it. Lotsa bands are releasing a dvd from every tour, and nobody is forced to buy it.

Well, if you look at it that way, I'm sure everyone wants as much more Blind Guardian content as possible.

Who voted for "No. There's too many BG dvd's already" ? How can there be many BG DVD's when there is only 1 released and that was 7 years ago!

Not sure about a DVD, but live CDs would be absolutely fantastic (I'd put out a multi-disc edition with each and every song played during the tour!).

I doubt that the tour DVD will be released. Just because I've never seen cameras on BG concerts this year. However they could film it at future shows, so the hope is not lost yet.
Just keep in mind, this world is sacred.

Me (though I can hardly believe it's already seven years... time flies...).
They waited 7 1/2 studio albums to release their first one, so I hardly consider it necessary to go for a second one only two studio albums later, especially since the set now and then is in large parts the same. Plus, it seems that the orchestral project won't take another thirteen years before it's release, and it will be probably followed by a second Coburg-like event with orchestra and stuff, that would really call for a dvd, so we would probably have a third one, one studio album (that isn't even a normal BG one) later, with roughly the same set for the non orchestra songs. That, at the latest, would be what I call overkill and sellout. Do you see that differently?

Simple answer:

Every DVD, will take BG time to create it. Time they don't have for writing new stuff or finishing the orchestra project.

So i would prefer a live album of the tour (although the tacklist might not differ much compared to the "Live" album) and the DVD for BGOA2 (with the content given in the extra thread)

Of course every BG content is welcomed as long as they don't release as much as Monawar, and even then it would be still BG and not Manowar ;)

BLIND GUARDIAN DVD #2

Disc 1
1. Blind Guardian live orchestral project songs
2. Blind Guardian epic songs featuring ______ orchestra (Wheel of Time, Curse of Feanor (heheh), And Then There Was Silence, Harvest of Sorrow, Nightfall, Fly, Sacred Worlds, Curse My Name, A Dark Passage, Into the Storm or Time Stands Still, etc.)

Disc 2
1. Regular Blind Guardian songs live
2. Rare Blind Guardian songs live
3. Bruce Dickinson & Hansi Kursch epic sword duel...no? Fine, Bruce Dickinson guest appearance for one of the live songs

I'd rather have Jon Schaffer make an appearance for a couple of Demons & Wizards songs.

They might be HD in the sense that they support 720p, but they're still done from shaky handicams on a fixed point in the crowd and with terrible sound. So, contrary to the WOA and BGOA-dvd's, they're not something I put on for my enjoyment.

Yeah, you are right! But it is the beginning. I guess next tour there will be a lot HD clips on youtube!

Oh damn! I forgot about Jon Schaffer! lol! Well, may as well throw in guest appearances from both then right?!
Can you picture "Somewhere Far Beyond" with Bruce and Hansi exchanging and harmonizing lines? :D
Or Blind Guardian performing "My Last Sunrise" with Jon Schaffer?
