Lyrics game

#1 Post by Avelar » 20 Sep 2010 16:51

The rules are simple: you must guess from which song are provided lyrics without looking into booklet or textual sources. Who names a song correctly, proposes the next.

Let's start from a simple:

Life is in motion
Just keep in mind, this world is sacred.

I cheated a little bit, listened to 2-3 songs skipping to find which one. I was between This Will Never End, Otherland, and of course Sacred. It was from Sacred. The next one is really hard:

ALL HAIL STORMBRINGER
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
Forever to be free

It's not a cheating in any way. It's even more interesting to listen to songs to find an answer.

When sorrow sang

next one:

the seal of oblivion is broken
Free are those who walk away from setting suns
Free are those who laugh at chains that held them bound
Free are those who conquer in vain but won't stop to run
Battered and down you pick up your pieces
To rise as one!

Ashes to ashes!

Guess this:

We will be lost if you truly believe
"There's a time when a man needs to fight and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny's lost, the ship has sailed and that only a fool will continue. The truth is I've always been a fool"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A slight call afar is tempting me, like a whisper sweet or an awful scream; I cannot ignore what I've always been, I'm leaving again - one last time? in my little kingdom I can be what I really wanted to be... The wanderer
And Then There Was Silence, 5th and 6ths line after the solo. I know the lyrics from anything post-IftOS way too well.
It can't be broken
'Nowhere has this renunciation of man's transience been more joyous or uplifting than in the medium of airport carpets.'
I think trying to make it hard isn't the point of this game. Again I might be mistaken :D. I won't say which song is it because I searched, but come on. I'll give another one for those who don't find the one above:
War and anger shall reign
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
I'll have a go:
I think there's something coming through from the other side
The vision fades there is no sanctuary,
What will go up surely comes down!
Oh come on, it's no fun if you just pick the lines that everyone knows immediately. :) Besides, this is the BG forum, so there are bound to be people besides me who know this line.
@Lord_Of Noldor: I don't think covers should count. (Don't Break the Circle by the way) Seems like cheating.
Anyway,
But if that's too obscure ( :roll: :P ) then
To reach the top I crept deep down
Wow, that sounds hard too, couldn't find it. Only thing near that came to mind was Truth lies in loneliness from The Soulforged :P. Anyway don't pick very difficult stuff, you make people cheat :P
I'll give an easier one, its a little tricky so I'll give 2 lyrics instead of 1:
The mermaids they will sing for you
The nymphs will bless the child
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
Ride into Obsession
And bestpike's is Turn the Page
Mourn for his lost soul he's cursed and condemned
Yes, I will continue to pick trickier ones. They're more fun for everyone. :D
EDIT: And no cheating! Have the grace to admit defeat and allow another to answer! :P
If anyone answers that without cheating I call bollocks! Anyway, I'll give again an easier one :lol: :
And Thorin clears his mind
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
Hey, you're undermining the game!
The Bard's Song - The Hobbit, last line
And you got it wrong, it's "And Chorin clears his mind." :lol:
Typical early BG line. I've thought it is from Majesty or The Last Candle, but it seems that it is not there.
Just keep in mind, this world is sacred.
