I'm gonna try to hit up the Michigan show, but no guarantees -- the only way I can go is if my brother goes with me, and since it's close to Detroit (I think) that might not go over too well.

Very unhappy with no dates in Ohio. Strong possibility that I won't get to see them at all. :(

I am definately going to be at the Philiadelphia show, will likely stay in the same hotel I did last time as well. Time to start making the plans.

Considered hitting this one too, but it would be too much trouble with college. :(

Worcester, yes!

Finally, I can see the bards live, I've waited a good 3 years or so. Going up a state to MA isn't too bad for travel time either, I think its closer than the NYC one at least.

So excited

I have been waiting twenty years to see them live
Any time they came anywhere near me in the past something would always come up, I can not let anything get in the way this time.

I wouldn't have a problem even if it was in Detroit, my brother gets a little paranoid though.

I just hope it's not general admission, but I'm sure it is.

Yeah, I meant the Raleigh one. I live pretty much centrally between the VA and Raleigh shows, so we'll see what happens.

Dec 6?!

Crap. That's the day I fly back from Italy. Granted I come into Seattle at 1pm, but can I really go to a gig on like zero sleep?

That's plenty of time for a solid nap. :) Or you could sleep on the plane. Either way, the answer to your question is yes, you can go to the gig, because it's Blind Guardian! :D

WORCESTER!

#27 Post by hazleton » 09 Sep 2010 20:50

Hey kids, waited 4 years to see the bards and I can't begin to say how excited I am that they're picked a general admission venue!
I called the palladium yesterday and found out that you can get tickets through tickets.com and FYE stores, but no one has any info on the show yet! I hope they release tickets soon, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say "I've waited too long to miss this!"

They usually put the show up on their website some time after it has been announced, and many, if not all of the major acts, have tickets you can pre-purchase.

It's a Howard Johnson about 10 miles outside the city itself(next to a Best Buy if memory serves me right), it's servicable but nothing special. I have yet to make the reservation.

I think they want to avoid playing in front of the fat crazy bitch that seems to be at every cleveland power metal show. I ran into her at a strato show and she was booing the opener, and saying that she was going to throw stuff at sascha gerstner if Helloween came to town.

Sadly, I think I know exactly who you are talking about. Me and several others wanted to punch her in the face. Luckily, I have not been to any power metal shows since Sonata Arctica/Nightwish in 2008. She kept screaming Tony Kakko's name really obnoxiously and kept yelling how Tarja sucked and how great Anette is, over and over and over.

Thanks! I'll keep my eye on the page, thanks to the stars above I figured out the internet phone!
Hope you, and everyone else that goes has a great time! The palladium is my favorite venue in mass, how about you guys?

I'm flying to london for 60 euro's and to milan for 100 euro's to see them.. So if you really want to see the band, you can save money and make the journey.

That sounds like a good age for her first metal show.

Yeah. She was booing Dark Arena, so I turned to her and told her to shut the fuck up. She said she met Tony Kakko or something. Either he bruised her neck, or someone else did and Tony Kakko pushed the guy away. She was fucking nuts. She was all over Timo Kotipelto's balls too, trying to grab them from the front row (Which she shoved her way to, might I add). She really hates Eric Singer for whatever reason.

It will be my second time seeing The Bards and I am fucking stoked.

Haven't heard the support acts yet but I hope they're better than Leaves' Eyes.

Seven Kingdoms is a fairly talented group with a female vocalist, but not my thing.

And Holy Grail is exactly what you would expect being the band members former band names were White Wizard and Sorcerer, very late 80s like power metal. :P

Seeing the band in San Antonio, for my second time as well. Should be a great way to celebrate the end of another college semester, as it's right after finals. It will hopefully match the first or be even better, because when I saw them in '06, it was the greatest time I've ever had in my life. :D

Can't wait to see them in Asheville, NC on Dec 17! I can't believe they are coming this close. The venue holds 1,000. Small but should be a great show to be so close to them.

Anyone else going to this one?

Very unhappy with no dates in Ohio. Strong possibility that I won't get to see them at all. :(
ahahahah, it's in Royal Oak, you'll be fine.
I wouldn't have a problem even if it was in Detroit, my brother gets a little paranoid though.

I just hope it's not general admission, but I'm sure it is.

Get there early, and I get front row. The diehards are always right up in the front.

Yeah, but if it's not general admission, you can buy front row -- you don't have to wait around forever and are free to go buy shirts and drinks and use the bathroom and stuff.
