What should come next??

#1 Post by Freak666 » 04 Sep 2010 10:26

So, the question is simple:

Would you like BG to do a new "regular studio album" or should they come along with the Orchestral Project next? Maybe a new "Demons and Wizards" CD or rather something like "Forgotten Tales II"? Also a new live album/DVD would be an option!

As I'm totally blown away by Sacred Worlds and Wheel of Time I really would wish for the orchestral thing!

I'd like the first three options. I don't dig D&W that much and the last live-album was two albums ago (not mentioning the Metal Hammer-CD).

I think the order these things will actually come are:

1. Orchestral Album 2013
2. 2nd Blind Guardian Festival -> Triple DVD \m/ 2014
3. Demons Wizards 3 2014-2015
4. Regular BG album 2016 (I added only 3 and not 4 years from 2013 since I think they will hurry up a bit since the previous regular album was in 2010)
5. Dunno about FT 2 we don't really have any solid evidence about it
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
Forever to be free

I want a new DVD the most right now. They don't have to release an album with it, just have someone start recording their performances and then put the best ones together on a DVD.

Orchestral project, I think. But I wonder if it will be released under the title of Blind Guardian since it is supposed to consist of Hansi's singing and orchestral stuff, and there are no any other metal instruments, as I read in some interviews...

BG was aware of this fact too, but in some interview they said that they will release it under their name. But at first they were in doubts....

Voted for Orchestral, I would like to hear that one the most.
All options would be great of course.
I think that next thing we're going to get is the new Demons & Wizards album.
After that Orchestral one...
Live DVD after new Blind Guardian Open Air.
New Blind Guardian Metal album - dare to dream... I don't think it will appear before 2016.

Good topic. After hearing the intro and outro of Sacred Worlds and Wheel Of Time, I'd say the Orchestral Project. :)
(but secretly I'd wish for a new D&W album)

Orchestral project, but another compilation like FT, this time with versions of songs such as ATTWS recorded with orchestra, would not be unwelcome.

I think given that the band is already recording the orchestral project, we see that late 2011, maybe early 2012, with a summer festival in 2012 to be released late 2012/early 2013 as the live DVD. New Metal album between 2014-2016
They can do it, other bands have released material as good as BG's in much shorter time.

Hahah, no no . The comparison just came because of the time spent in the songwriting/recording/releasing process that took for that album. But no doubt that BG will come out with something outstanding :D

Had Axl changed a few things, Chinese Democracy would have been an incredible power metal album. Great melodies, great layering work, production was flawless, and it was epic as all hell, which was kinda the antithesis to everything GNR fans wanted. Chinese Democracy was fucking great though.

+1
Only one DVD in 25 years history is not enough. And they better put performances from the upcoming tour on this DVD rather than another BGOA. I think that having video analog of their Live album would be awesome!

Au contraire, I like it that way much better than releasing a "new" DVD every two studio albums.
