I assume it just means that it isn't the version of "Sacred Worlds" that is on "At the Edge of Time". I won't know for sure until I can hear it for myself.

Hi! :D
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
Forever to be free

Maybe they did what they have to do for their Maximum Metal cds - cut the song at 4:59, since they'd have to pay more to GEMA if the song is 5 mins or longer.

Looks cool (although I thought it would include the dvd instead of audio-tracks).

It's cool that it comes in a jewelcase, instead of a cardboard sleeve, which I somewhat expected.

No, those Bonus-Live-CDs usually come in a Jewelcase, was the same with the die Apokalyptischen Reiter-CD.

I bought the "Metal Hammer" Magazine today :-)

The Metal Hammer edit is the Version from the Game I think (Running Time 6:27). The Album Version is 9:17.
The Sound-Quality is very good. 8 Songs from the Wacken Open Air 2007.

Tracklist:

1. Sacred Worlds (Metal Hammer edit) (6:27)

Wacken Open Air 2007

2. War Of Wrath - Live (1:55)
3. Into The Storm - Live (5:17)
4. Born In The Mourning Hall - Live (5:52)
5. Nightfall - Live (5:56)
6. Fly - Live (6:15)
7. Valhalla - Live (7:40)
8. The Bard's Song (In The Forest) - Live (4:44)
9. Mirror, Mirror - Live (5:44)

Total Play Time: 49 Minutes!

The CD comes in the normal Jewel Case with a pretty Cool Cover and the best Bard's Song Version 'til now!

Cool, thanks for the info. I was wondering what version it would be.

I have to pick up two magazines after work today. The one shop near my office doesn't carry Metal Hammer. :-(

I thought so too for a moment, but it isn't. The solo is a bit longer, and there's a new part with vocals, going heavily on trioles, before the last chorus.

But a cool version anyway. I'm not through the live-part yet..

But the Fly soudns nice as well.

Only the German Metal hammer. They may have the same name, but otherwise they don't really have anything to do with each other.

It's exactly the same as the game version (just youtube the video if you don't own the game) with a longer solo and a brief line of vocals added near the end.

André: Hi, I'm André...

Marcus: and I'm Marcus,

André: We're from Blind Guardian...

Marcus: ... and play.

André: Games.

Subs: ...about the fascination of games.

Marcus: For me the fun comes first, and playing together with friends with whom I've been daddling with since, dunno, 5 years, since 2005.

André: For me it's a hobby, I need some change from everyday life now and again and then I like to dive into one of those fantasy worlds. There are some other games besides of WoW I like to play...

Marcus: What?!

André: huh?... (both laugh)

André: Mass Effect 2 for example was amazing, and something smaller alonside other things like (can't understand that name) is cool too

Marcus: (that blasted game I don't understand again) is cool!

subs: The influence of games on songs

André: I have let some atmospheres flow into songs, for exampe when I played the first Diablo I was so enarmoured and influenced by that world that Blood Tears got some influences from that.

Marcus: Or earlier already, Bard's Tale and all that stuff...

André: Yeah, of course, we've been playing games for ages...

André: In times when I played some shooters like Half-Life, there emerged some heavier songs, uhm, there is a conncetion between that (Marcus laughs)

André: I'm pro-Killerspiele (an expression from German media for Egoshooters and similar, which appear to be the only reason why sometimes a student goes on a killing spree in his school.)

Marcus: me too! (both laugh again)

subs: The co-operation with Sacred 2

André: Well, we really fitted "Sacred" onto the game Sacred 2, and we relly tried, seeing some video sequences from the game and were allowed to play the game quite early during the betatests and let that work on us, and then i tried to work with this drive I knew from the sequences and cloth it in a bit of sundtrack music and to integrate that, and I think this fusion with the game and the trailer worked really well.

subs: influence of radio plays

Marcus: I became a fan of radio plays on tour because I'm, for whatever reason, no longer able to read books in the bus, It makes me sick. Formerly I used to read tons fo books and at some point I switched to audiobooks.
There's a series, a German series, called Gabriel Burns or something, from which I got laods of episodes on the iPod during the last tour, it's a horror-mystery-mish-mash-series which is pretty awesome, also won some prizes I think. Or audiobooks in general, I've bought one of my favourite books, The Pillars of Earth by Ken Follett, as an audiobook, and it's very comfortable if you go into your bunk on the ngihtliner and don't fall asleep instantly to put on your earphones and then fall asleep.

subs: On your own appearance in a radio pay:

André: We took part once in a radio play, as well for Sacred 2, there's a radio play-series for that...

Marcus: ..which is awesome too!

André: ...and we were allowed to, what were we again, some Buca...

Marcus: Brigands!

André: We were the brigands, right, and were could to speak some things, was really fun as well, uhm... Yet I'm not much of a radio play-fan, though I have collected the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in all kinds of versions, but...

Marcus: Have you never listened to Hui Buh? (a famous german radio paly for little children)

André: Is that some kind of audiobook or something?

Marcus: (aghast) Hui Buh?

André: I always lsiteend to Hui Buh! But that was a couple of years ago...

Marcus: well... (laughs) I also still got some "Three Investigators"!

André: No, I don't.. but I'm also a bit older than you. (both laugh)

Marcus: (as the video fades) Old fart!

Thanks for translation! The game that André mentions after Mass Effect 2 is Torchlight, a Diablo-like rpg made by guys that left Blizzard.

Why in the hell is "Otherland" not on this cd? Hell all of the other songs (except "Fly") are on the Live album. You would think they would include all the songs that have never been included on a live album yet. "Traveller in Time" (yes I know it's on Tokyo Tales) was the highlight of the Wacken show and they left that one off too. This cd could have been better. Even free with the magazine you still feel jipped. :x
