Nostalgia clouds perspective.

CoD4 was a fun movie to play once. :P I just detest the game mechanics of enemies endlessly spawning and nothing progressing until the player reaches the magical checkpoint.

Half-Life (any), FarCry and F.E.A.R. ftw.

For many years I think it was one of the best FPS! Although Duke Nukem was cool too in multiplayer!
But I got other favourites later, like Half-Life 1, HL2, Opposing Force... and now: HL2 Synergy mod *__*

Technically it's been surpassed, but it's definetely the shooter I have enjoyed (and prolly played) the most.

I can't wait for a remake to come out.

That would be Shadow Warrior. "Do you want to wash Wang, or do you want to watch Wang wash Wang?"

Shadow Warrior is awesome indeed. 8)
But my personal favourite of the Build-engine shooters is Blood. Caleb's voice is badass and he has a slew of hilarious comments. The game also has loads of very funny pop-culture references. Like finding a frozen guy with an axe in a hedge-maze, which prompts Caleb to utter "Heeeeere's Johnny!".
