The snus appreciation thread

#1 Post by The Rider Of Rohan » 06 Jun 2009 09:59

Why this topic? Because I haven't been smoking for exactly a week now. Thank heavens for buying snus online!

So, how many other snus-lovers actually are in here?

you know, there is something like google or wikipedia... no need to ask since i'm sure the result of either will satisfy your thirst for knowledge.

It's tobacco that you put under your upper lip. Doesn't look too good, and doesn't do much good to your health or your mouth either. Like in Sweden it's popular here in Norway. Never tried it myself, though.

It must be said though, that other people aren't bothered, besides the sometimes funny or weird sight :P

As far as I know, the verdict is still out regarding health concerns.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.

Well, at least my book in p.e. said some things about that it damages your health. Also increasing the chance of getting cancer, I think. I don't really know, though. At least it does damage the mouth.

Well, that's true, of course. That's one of the benefits compared to smoking :P
It ought to be said though, that it doesn't look very good when people aren't able to throw it away in the dustbin. At least here you often see the snuff on floors and sometimes even walls in some buildings, schools in particular.

YEE-HAW MOTHERFUCKER!

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which
I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
it’s a very very...

cancer is like excessive growths right? so in the ovaries does that mean we get eggs big enough to fry in a pan and have breakfast with?

IIRC there was some revisited research in recent years, and the current concensus is that snus itself does not significantly increase the likelihood of cancer.
It ought to be said though, that it doesn't look very good when people aren't able to throw it away in the dustbin. At least here you often see the snuff on floors and sometimes even walls in some buildings, schools in particular.
Well, gosh, what about chewing gum then? ;) (One of the things that annoy me to no end btw, besides people just leaving around stuff on the streets in general. It's not that much of an effort to keep the streets a bit clean. Really.)
