Halo Reach and COD: Modern Warfare 2, both for 360.

Also I'm waiting for Crysis 2 to hit the shelves and I'm thinking of buying the new Castlevania.

I'm waiting for Assassin's Creed to come out, and I might pick up Castelvania while I'm out that day. Or maybe God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

Although I've already played my downloaded copy of the game for hundreds of hours, I just ordered the Borderlands GOTY Edition, because it was only 21 euros with free shipping at Play.com, and I love that game enough to want to own a real copy.

Never played that game since I don't do consoles and I'm not too fond of JRPGs anyway, but the main title track is an absolutely amazing piece of music. Nobuo Uematsu is a musical genius.

Yesterday I started playing 50 cent: Blood In The Sand. The concept is brilliant: angry black guy kills people.

Worst soundtrack ever, though.

Quite literally.

Though there has been a tendency of late where publishers announce a game at a date they know to be unjust then delay it, all with the aim of creating extra hype. I hope it won't happen with TES5, though. Novembers is already too long to wait.

Actually I don't think 'western' qualifies like a genre, just like scifi and real-world aren't genres either. You must be talking about 'setting'.

Well, Call of Juarez is in FIRST PERSON SHOOTER genre... But there are thousands of 1stPS games...
For example Call Of Duty or Counter Strike, both are 1stPS games, but Call of Juarez is in a Sub-Category of "Wastern".
Other example is the HALO game. It's 1stPS too, but it's on other Sub-Category of "Fantasy".

I bought a couple used games last weekend :

Alan Wake : .... I'm such a dipshit for not checking out this piece of art earlier. I was afraid that the gameplay would be too 'gimmicky' and shallow for a complete playthrough, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The settings are absolute masterpieces and the light versus dark theme is so well integrated that it doesn't grow old at all. I think I'm about nearing the end of the game and there hasn't been as much as 1 second that I haven't enjoyed.

Alone in the dark : In some ways it feels kinda similar when compared to Alan Wake, although this is obviously more of a horror story and it's by far the lesser of the two games. I totally agree with most of the reviewers that the controls are pretty much shitty in a lot of situations, but the atmosphere is just as it should be I think. It's scary, compelling and inviting to play, despite the crappy controls. When in 1st person it's quite enjoyable though.

Jericho : pretty mediocre game this one, with a somewhat interesting storyline. But it comes down to shooting the crap out of all kinds of naughty monsters and using superpowers against the hordes of evil, of course. It's a marginally entertaining arcade shooter, which I will only finish because there's a girl in the squad with bouncing tits.

you guys and your unskilled childrens game Call of Duty. I hope you all know that Assassins Creed and Call of Duty fanchises are marketed to children and are terrible, unskilled games that take no practice to learn and will never reach competetive level.

Anyways the last games I bought were Quake Live: Pro and League of Legends.

Ok lets compare Counter-Strike with Call of Duty. in both you can die very quickly, but in CS it takes actual skill to kill someone. You need lightning fast reflexes on par with that of a nascar driver and an ability to control recoil on your guns that takes months of practice to master. In Call of Duty, the perks make the game imbalanced and uneven and the maps are very flawed. In counterstrike, all maps have zero hiding spots and it takes true skill to survive. If you are going to bodyshot someone, they take little to no damage, you have to headshot to kill and that requires an extreme amount of aiming skill. The game was built to be competetive. Even Halo is more skilled than Call of Duty because when someone is shooting at you, you have a chance to react, rather than it being a game of 'whoever sees the other first wins', as in Call of Duty. People say Call of Duty is more 'realistic'. That is a joke, its not. People who say this haven't played games like 'Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising' and therefore do not know how far away they are from the truth.

Calling Counter-Strike more realistic than Call of Duty, or vice versa, is kinda like saying that methanol is a better drink than battery acid.

Besides, as far as I can tell, Call of Duty only came up because Skyflat was talking about Call of Juarez and accidentally said Call of Duty. At least that's what I gathered, anyone correct me if I misunderstood.
Then you swoop in all high-and-mighty, and fly off the handle at these "children" because YOU KNOW what are Good and Real and Proper games, and anyone who prefers something else than your precious reflex-o-rama headshotfests is a silly bugger.

Here's a newsflash for you: Not all games are about becoming super-skilled and competing with others. Critisizing Assassin's Creed because it "takes no skill to master" or what the fuck ever makes no sense, because it's a completely moot point. It's a game to be played for the atmosphere, story and having fun with medieval parkour while stabbing a few guys to death.

So you can take your smugly superior know-it-all attitude, shove it up your ass (if it can fit there together with your head) and go play in a garbage compactor. Preferably one that's running.

P.S: I dislike Call of Duty too. As single-player games, that is, I don't play shooters online.
And The Lord said unto John: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'.
But John came fifth, and won a toaster.
