You are trapped in an insane fantasy land...

#1 Post by TraneDeracs » 07 Jul 2008 20:50

You get to pick FIVE characters to bring with you to complete your epic and dangerous journey, who are they?

Gandalf the White - Dur
Roland Deschain - DT Series
Ramza Beoulve - Final Fantasy Tactics
Vincent Valentine - FF7
Tobias the Hawk - Animorphs

Best all star group ever.
This has the potential to be the worst fan fiction ever...but I love it.

Gandalf the White- Obviously
Fingolfin- Dude cut Morgoth 7 times and chopped his foot off. That's got to be one badass elf. Got a great song too.
Harry Dresden (Dresden Files)- Awesome wizard, great lines
Wolverine- Always good to have someone who's pretty much invincible and has giant claws on your side
Ratchet and Clank (from game of same name; I count them as one)- Ratchet will Rip Ya a New One

I have pretty much covered all my bases. Gunslinger - Check! Star God - Check! Blaster wielding brawler type - Check! Jedi Knight - Check! Modded monster hunter - Check!

By the way, this topic caused me to finally register for this forum. I had been meaning to for a while, but I just had to get in on this one. :P

Megatron - Decepticon Leader of the Robot "Transformers"
Darth Vader - a Dark Lord of the Sith and Fallen Jedi Knight
Dr. Doom - King of Latveria, Universal Terrorist
Hunter Hearst Helmsley - King of Kings, Cerebral Assassin
John Cena - Chaingang General, Criminal Kingpin

And ME! As Karate Master - leader and founder of nefarious Religious Cult - the Axis of the Open-Hand!

Megatron? He'd still be trapped in his disadvantaged, human-size energy-pistol, and looking just like a German-made, Walther P-38: an assassin's weapon! He talks and shoots only when he wants ta! And I bet the other guys'll do anything ta steal him from me, too!

(Karate Master managed ta capture Megatron in said state, and disabled Megatron too - and all by once psi-disguising himself as Megatron's sometime accomplice, the One, Dr. Graham Superstar!

Darth Vader? It'll hafta be the post-Marvel Wars version! This bold new adventure'll force good ole' Palpatine, ta get rid of ole' Cody Sunne-Childe, all by himself!

Doctor Doom? What the heck would I want Doomsie around fer?!? I have a feeling Doomsie'll just take off on his rocket-pack, and only be around us, if forced to by the circumastances of all of the Monsters in this here Maze!

Triple H? We just might be statured Old English Peers - eye right ta f'ing eye: I've always wanted ta kick Triple H's ass, just ta find out!

John Cena? A steel-hard killing machine from White Rome, America! I can't wait ta knock the shit outta him with the Great Swastikan!

Esmerelda Weatherwax - Discworld
Samuel Vimes - Discworld
Leonard Da Quirm - Discworld (under a very strict surveillance)
Ulysses - Omeric cycle
A random tank from any possible setting. The more blatantly idiot he/she/it is, the more aggro it can pull, the better.

...from troubles he created himself in the first place.

Anyways, my party.
-Minsc, from Baldur's Gate. "We are all heroes, you and Boo and I!"
-HK-47, from KotOR. (reprogrammed to be my servant, of course)
-MacGyver.
-Batman.
-Deekin the kobold bard, from Neverwinter Nights. The others are just regular companions, but Deekin is my personal sidekick.

I would've picked Geralt of Rivia, but looks like he's busy elsewhere...

I've changed my mind since the my last message, the other one was just a team of losers. Now I'm back with an insane team.

Boo - Baldur's Gate
Morte - Planescape Torment
Guybrush Threepwood - Monkey Island
Cassandra - The Iliad (We may need someone to see future, though we won't believe in what she says, which is funny)
Qwffq the Mollusc or Uncle N'ba N'ga - Synopsis of Cosmocomics

Boo is the brain of the party. When I was playing BG, he was always too busy with leading, managing and tactic giving to party that he couldn't find time to kick some ass; he's the true leader, a patriot that has no country, a king with no lands and and a general without brain.
So, Boo doesn't kick ass; he basically makes someone kick asses!

(But I didn't even know there was such a cheat. Hımm, I wonder where did I put the CD's.)

It's one of those creature code cheats. All you do is find that code, the press ctrl + q while the cursor is over Boo to add him to your party for some serious ass kicking!

Hmm... okay. I actually spent some time thinking about real practicability of such a group. I'd probably be the only really useless part :P
I'd like to see reasons from the other people posting here too

Gandalf the Grey - Lord of the Rings. For his magic and even though sometimes dubious wisdom. The Grey because being White made him annoying.

Samwise Gamgee - LotR. For his companionship. To keep the group together, to keep the hopes up, as someone you can totally rely on - and for the cooking :P

Sarabian - The Tamuli. For dealing with people, diplomatics, languages, lies and politics. And because I think I'd get along with him well.

Khalad - The Elenium/The Tamuli. For practical thinking, sneaking, fighting and all sorts of useful knowledge.

Berit - The Elenium/The Tamuli. For fighting, for some magic, for his calm character, and for mediating between Khalad and the rest of the group because otherwise Khalad would be unbearable.

So... I think that's a group that could work quite well 8)

Glorfindel - killed a Balrog and is pretty
Jon Snow - has a wolf
Perrin Aybara - can talk to wolves
Belgarion - has magic and can turn into a wolf
Maugrim - is a wolf.

Spot the odd one out.

Eh, Belgarion? :P

Gandalf - for magic tricks and he must have nice stories because he lives so long
Roland Deschain (The Dark Tower) - excellent shot
Dumbledore (alive please) - for magic tricks
Yoda - for magic tricks and fighting
Some random hot chick who doesn't like old people so I can bone her

I have it all figured out. This party would totally grind that insane fantasy land 8)
Andre, Marcus and Freddy would understand... :P And I am secretly bringing along four more people by the way

King Leonidas - From 300. As the main tank because of his high damage resistance. It takes about a thousand arrows to kill him so he certainly has alot HP.
Beowulf - as the 2nd tank and main assist. He would also help King Leonidas to aggro mobs and pull bosses.

Lord Voldemort - For high DPS burst damage by using his Avada Kedavra spell.
Gandalf - For dealing massive area of effect damage and using his "You shall not pass!" shout for crowd control.
Legolas - To use his insanely fast shooting to up the total DPS of the party and to interrupt skills of enemies.
(Captain) Jack Sparrow - he could shoot flying barrels to cause huge explosions dealing lots of damage.

Elrond - For healing the party. Preferably with heal-over-time spells and defensive buffs.

The Witchking - for air damage and area scouting.

Gladstone Gander - From Donald Duck. He just needs to be around to increase the drop rate and improve the loot.

It would own. 8)

1. good point :) I'll take him along...but he'd better learn to play the harp, otherwise I'll pick Cairpré (Merlin seriex by T.A. Barron) instead
2. Lan (Wheel of Time) (which means I can actually leave Aragorn at home... :P)- we do need someone to do the fighting...
3. Sparhawk (Elenium/Tamuli)- as a nice contrast to Lan.. (maybe I should take Kalten along as well...)
4. Rincewind and his luggage- basically because of the luggage ;)
5. A Balrog - can't hurt to have one on your side (wings or no wings).. makes creeping up on somebody a tiny little bit difficult, yes.. and it would probably leave a trail that can easily be followed... but you'd have light in the dark as well.. :D (okay, maybe that's not the best idea.. I'll think of something else then...)

Cuchulainn would be a good choice, if mythological characters are allowed. He can kill 500 men in a single pass of his chariot. If that's not battle prowess I don't know what is. He can also has the Gae Bulg, which he throws with his toes, and explodes into barbs inside the targets body. And he has the Warpspasm.

Ok, I'll start with Gandalf too, we need a wizard and he's the best traveling wizard I know.
White Wolf - "His name was Geralt of Rivia. He was a Witcher, a professional monster slayer."
Guns kill people - Roland Deschain.
Next companion on our trip will be Alice, cause she's used to insane fantasy lands and she'll guide us.
He may not have experience about fantasy things but he's still a Swordmaster of the Ginaz and ready to protect the girl - Duncan Idaho.

This thread is awesome.

Felix Jaeger - Gotrek & Felix series (an awesome poet who kick ass with a sword)
Solid Snake - MGS series (cause you never know when you need to sneak)
Roland Deschain - Dark Tower series (for uber gunslinger skills)
Indiana Jones - ...Duh... (no explanation needed)
Sam Fisher - Splinter Cell (for additional sneaking)

Barbapapa (for distraction, because every foe will be like wtf is that blob doing here, while other party members get a head start at asskicking)
Lucy Lawless (every party needs a horny chick who can be a warrior princess if necessary as well)
Edgar Davids (he doesn't even hesitate to punch a young innocent girl in the face in a full cinema, the guy's absolutely fearless !)
Pino (or big bird, as he is known abroad, will bite your pecker off if you just push him far enough)
Andre (a hologram will cause confusion, plus the bard's song will inspire the party to fight even harder)
Eat more vegetables !

Odin - Why go for Gandalf when you can go for the real thing?
Prometheus - Come face it, he's pretty awesome, first creating humans and then giving fire to them.
Merlin - Smart and mystical guy (which I like), plus he created Stonehenge, which puts him rather high in the awesomeness scale.
Treebeard - To counterbalance the above mystical smart-asses, Treebeard, who is earthy and strong, may be a good choice.
The Morrígan - I need a woman here, in order not to upset the feminists, and in order to actually please the feminists (and contrary to traditional gender roles) I choose a woman who is a pretty fierce warrior. Also, she can turn into a wolf.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.

funny to think about who i would choose...

at first, John Taylor from the nightside is never a bad idea. it's so demotivating for the enemy if you have someone who can destroy your weapon or your spell by just thinking of it's weak spot.
Merlin Satanspawn, also nightside. just merlin, only more evil and kickass. maybe i'll give him his heart back, so he has his whole strength.
Qwen Deathstalker, a hero who don't wants to be a hero. but someone has to do the dirty things and he does them better than good!
Hazel D'Ark, nice girl with a not so nice temper. and she has the ability to call alternate version of herself from different dimensions for help. and she also has a very nasty secret... they are both from the deathstalker series.
Hawk. Best. Man. Ever. and he has only one eye left (lost his other in a war with demons, that's what you get when you fight almost alone against an army of demons...) which makes him seriously badass!

and to be honest, i wouldn't need them all, one of them could do it alone, but for company... it's nicer, when you can talk and laugh with others, while you kickass! :P
YEE-HAW MOTHERFUCKER!

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which
I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
it’s a very very...

...Mad world

Stephen Fry. I will want to get out of lala-land and since there's few he doesn't know anything about, he'll be able to help
Sohma Shigure. Someone has to write it down, and Hansi's better off married than straying into fantasy adventures. The last one already cost him his gorgeous long hair.
Hermione Granger. Turns out she's got a handy back (see Harry Potter part 7) and there's little she doesn't know.
Monkey D Luffy. In the end he always wins. I'll have to think of a 5th party member to look after him though

So, my list:
- Tasslehoff Burfoot - it would be boring without troubles, plus I need someone who's not afraid of anything
- Aoth Fezim - Forgotten Realms
- Duncan MacLeod - Highlander - he's cute and stays that way :P
- Lord Soth - Dragonlance - to scare people off or kill them
- Gandalf
