We went back to playing The Dark Eye, the local hero, but I'll probably be DMing Sperent's Skull after the current campaign terminates. I'm certainly quite taken by it right now.

We're using a Flipmat, easy to draw on, easy to clean. Very useful. As for miniatures, we mostly use ages old plastics from Hero Quest and the D&D board game.

There has always been a tendency in (A)D&D to stereotype characters as classes and 4th edition takes an extreme step in that direction in that it places almost all customization within the classes. I've played 4th Edition DnD and while it can be a fun skrimish tabletop system - I've never had quite as much fun doing combat in other systems - it utterly fails as an RPG.

I don't think I want to attend that festival. I don't care for any band except for BG and maybe Grave Digger, though they tend to suck live. And I really don't want to spend money to see Dragon Force and Stratovarius.

I don't like christmas nor such markets either, but drinking hot mead in the cold with cool people is great fun, even if people are singing horrible songs and trying to sell you overpriced kitschy trinkets around you.

I do think that ANATO was a turn for the worse and ATITM is just a mostly boring album, with a few highlights (Fly comes to mind), ATEOT is pretty good, though.

They could have taken the decent riffs and vocal lines and made a good 5 minute song, 7 maybe....

It was a crit of 200 pages. Don't know about the rest of the book. And I don't think I'll finish it. If it bored my so much so early on and I don'T find the writing enjoyable to read... why bother? There are many other great books out there, I haven't read.

Yes! Blind Guardian, Accept, Equilibrium, The Scorpions, Kreator, Rage... And so many others I haven't found yet! German metal is like the crux of my music taste.
