Re: The best time to listen to Blind Guardian

Blind Guardian have always suited Autumn, perhaps because I got my first BG album that season. Of course, in the midst of the mountains, forests, lakes, and so forth. I can't listen to them in the city, certainly not. Perhaps ATITM but only if I needed a quick fix  Also, I love the LotR soundt...

Re: Poll for university research: Favourite Album?

I voted SFB because it's got a very dark vibe to it, which I can't get out of the other Blind Guardian albums. It was my first BG album so it's the one I've known the longest and hold dearest. The album art is also my favourite from the bards :D

I like the new sample! Has a dark tone to it, as they said the album would.

Re: Bathory

Bathory's early albums suck, but mostly because he was ripping off Venom at the time. his later viking metal stuff is great. I admit that it was a good move of him to adopt those Manowar-influences. I personally like Bathory. Never been into the whole Viking gig, but I do enjoy Bathory and a ...

Re: Good metal albums for the winter season

Wintersun, Sonata Arctica, and whole onslaught of black metal bands are my winter music. And Opeth always sounds better to me during the winter, yet I only have two albums of theirs', "Deliverance" and "Watershed"

Re: Forlorn Wisp: Very Kursch-like vocals..

Hmm, I've heard that as well but never thought that the Savage Circus vocalist and Hansi were alike. Then you're either deaf or in denial. :P I'm not sure if I'd quite call him a "clone" but he sounds a helluva lot like Hansi used to. Nowadays Hansi has softened up considerably. comparison: http://...

Re: What BG song are you listening to this moment?

Ashes to Ashes, among my favourite songs by Blind Guardian. I love that bit where it begins with the lyrics "And don't be afraid", after the build-up with "I am the one", very emotional part in the song. The build-up is very powerful and cold, and then that leads into a short, yet great melody. Has ...

Re: Lucifer's Heritage in world of Blind Guardians…

Very good translations, I would be interested in reading more! It is nice to read how Blind Guardian goes about their song writing and such, especially during the early years. I consider their compositions to be fantastic, and their history of writing them is entertaining to read about.

Forlorn Wisp: Very Kursch-like vocals..

I ran across Forlorn Wisp yesterday, a power metal band from Serbia. The similarity between Hansi Kursch and their vocalist is astounding. The music is very good too. I suggest you give them a listen, and see what you think regarding the vocals. Also, I found it slightly funny that their only influe...
