Re: Memories of a Time to Come

I thought I'd give the new compilation a shot, and so far it's really interesting. The remixes are quite good. I love how the different nuances in the mix are more audible this time around, which makes for a more satisfying experience overall. On many songs I am actually able to hear the differences...

I for one am looking forward to hearing a rerecorded ATTWS.

Who knows, perhaps even LeBard will change his mind about bands who rerecord their songs.

Re: New Iced Earth album in the works

I'm listening to the album right now, and I am pleasantly surprised. I sitll don't think that Stu's a great singer, but at least there's less tempation to compare him to Matt and Tim because it's all original material. And the actual songwriting is stronger than the previous two albums.

Yeah, I read that too. It's a cool idea, because it makes leveling up serve a purpose: to be able to vanquish a demon that was too strong before. The best one is Crimson Thunder, but Glory To The Brave deserves a lot of credit. It's one of those classic albums that single-handedly shaped metal as we know it. I listened to the song and really tried to like it, but the vocals were so bad my testicles actually started hurting. The mallcore vocals are really bad, the growl seem out of place and the clean vocals mimic James Hetfield too much to be enjoyable. The new vocal style may get the band a lot of youn...

Oliver's a great bassplayer, but also replacable. Who ever notices the basslines during a BG-concert? I don't. Show is all about Hansi, the audience and the two guitarplayers. So it'll be okay.
