Great job, Paul. Excellent piece of music. Hansi's voice would really work in this one. :-)

"Pillars of Light", ambient album by Siddhartha Barnhoorn.

Hi there, My name is Siddhartha Barnhoorn, I am an award winning film composer from The Netherlands. I've been a fan of Blind Guardian for as long as I can remember, since I first heard NIME actually. And thanks to them I got into music, got my first guitar and started figuring out the melodies and ...

Re: What BG song are you listening to this moment?

I experienced the same although I began with fairly non-metal songs like the ballads, A Past and Future Secret etc. which I loved immidiantely. Then I listening to I'm Alive for the first time and had to turn it off. Haha! Nowadays it's just a pleasure listening to those songs and everything else. *...

Re: Road of no release - Noldor

Valhalla is great but I really love A Voice in the Dark. It's a great song. Love the comparison though. Interesting to hear Hansi's voice from way back in those days and hear his work now. His voice, style, range and control over his voice has grown tremendously well over the years. Respect!

1. Nightfall in Middle-Earth (The first record I heard of them and was in love ever since. For me it's a masterpiece.) 2. At the Edge of Time (I really love this album. I've listened to it numerous times now and I enjoy it every time. André said that he was still looking for that perfect masterpiece...

Hi everyone, Desert_Storm gave me something to think about and I thought I'd upload some of the old rock crap I used to compose when I just started out with the guitar and composing. This stuff is like when I was only playing guitar for about a year. Not really happy with most of it but some of it i...

@Energokinetic, I understand what you mean. It seems to be playing on the offbeat but it wasn't really neccesairy to have that there. Eitherway, I'm not bothered by it though.

@Bender, definitely not a tuba.

Again, it's the instrument, probably a bass trombone. It's just the sound it makes. Check it out:

Re: Bad notes (debunked), artefacts etc on this great album

8:15 isn't a production mistake of anykind. It's just the trombone playing and from the sound of it from the lower family like the cimbasso or the bass trombone which has this distrinct "harsh" sound. That's all.
