Re: Ayreon live in concert 013 Tilburg

Yes, it was absolutely amazing, one of my favourite shows ever for sure. And in terms of production (stage, lightning, video), it was a big step up from the Theater Equation (which I also attended and was also damn great). I went on Friday and on Sunday, I thought performances Sunday were a tad bett...

Re: Live Beyond The Spheres New Live Album

Listened to it a couple of times. Some thoughts: Audio is very clear, almost like a studio live perfromance at times. That has pros and cons for me. The instuments can be appreciated very well, especially hearing the bass so clear is great. It does, however, detract a bit from the live feeling. The ...

Re: Live Beyond The Spheres New Live Album

The mixing seems more solid on the actual album and the backing vocals do seem more noticeable, oddly on some songs way more than others. Could be overdubs. Wheel of Time sounds absolutely incredible, to my surprise somewhat. Another highlight: no awkward falsetto during Tanelorn. Somehow. That's k...

The band's bassist, Barend Courbois, has uploaded photos of him working on the studio with the band. What do you think this is about? I think there are 4 possibilities with the 3rd one being quite odd: 1) They are recording for the orchestral project. (Although we don't even know if the "metal inst...

Maybe they first want to nail the current setlist to have several good takes for the live recording and then move on to some other surprises/new songs. That would make sense to me. Not expecting a complete turnaround, but do think we will see some other changes.
