Re: Memories of a Time to Come

The thing with Blind Guardian, is that anybody who's a true fan of BG knows that they have released no bad albums and no bad songs. For us, a best of album should be their whole discography. But I recommended this album to my friend, who's a BG fan but only knows the newer stuff. I thought it'd be g...

Re: Memories of a Time to Come

i said Ride into Obesseion wasnt remixed cause I cannot tell the difference between the two at all Well, one difference is Hansi audibly singing "The wheel will turn" by himself (over the layering) in the chorus. EDIT: I was actually wrong with this one, it's the same in the original. Maybe they ju...

I definitely think there's new stuff in the remixes, though. In the Forest was marked as a remix, but the orchestral stuff is all new.

Re: Does Hansi use falsetto?

I was wondering if Hansi has suffered a vocal injury recently, during some dates of the At The Edge of Time tour, especially on songs like Sacred Worlds and Tanelorn, he purposely does not hit the high notes and sings some melodies an octave lower. Don't get me wrong he's an excellent vocalist. He ...

He seems fine in the studio. But live, he has to preserve his vocals. Keep in mind that when on tour, they do a show a day or every two days.

When live adaptation is better than the original.

Does anybody else find that when the band makes changes to a song to make it suitable for live play, it actually sounds better sometimes? I realised this when I was listening to Fly from the "Sacred Worlds and Songs Divine Tour" CD, and I heard the "'What is it like?' you ask me, my dear" part; an i...

I honestly have no idea. It hasn't quite sunk in yet.

But from what I've heard, it'd be a stretch to call it their best album. That doesn't mean that it's not awesome nonetheless.

The only sound I hear that can be described as electronic is the low brass, which is very low, but it's still a fault with the listener if he doesn't hear it for what it is. This is probably the Under the Ice "beep" all over again. Some people were absolutely sure that there was an electronic beep,...
